Job description

Location: Based at our office in Battersea Library or Roehampton, with some home working possible.

Why we need you

This is a new and exciting management role that’s pivotal to our continued success as an organisation. We’ve created the role in order to increase our investment in the training and development of our teams, as well as to:

  • Enable us to become more strategic about training and development.
  • Enable us to explore additional development work around training, for instance Qualify Work Experience and training contracts for young people with legal qualifications.

You’ll have overall responsibility for our training pathway. Day-to-day this means working with other managers and Volunteer Coordinator to lead the work to induct, train and develop new staff, as well as managing the progression of volunteers moving into advice roles. It also involves supporting our team by supervising advice sessions and quality checking work, as needed.

What we’re looking for

Familiarity with Citizens Advice and advice services generally may help with this role but we’re not necessarily looking for someone with an advice background. It’s more important that you have great people skills and experience of supporting the training and development of others. It’s also important that your values align with ours and that you can demonstrate generosity, quality, accountability and creativity in how you work. You could be a great fit for the role if you’ve worked in the education sector or workforce development. As an organisation we’re happy to help you develop, learn and fill out any areas where you don’t have all the experience or expertise, as long as you have the ability to grow into the role.

Our commitment to EDI

We’re passionate about promoting equity, valuing diversity and working inclusively. We welcome applications from all suitably qualified people but particularly people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic groups and people with disabilities, as these groups are currently under-represented in our team.

Closing date: 10AM on Monday 27 November 2023

Interviews: TBC, in our Battersea Library office
