Department: Chief Executive Office
Citizens Advice offers confidential advice online, over the phone, and in person, for free. Through our national network of charities, we give people the knowledge and the confidence they need to find their way forward – whoever they are, and whatever their problem.
We particularly welcome applications from disabled and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates as BAME and disabled people are currently under-represented throughout Citizens Advice. We are a member of the race equality campaign at Business in the Community, the Prince’s responsible business network and are committed to improving employment opportunities for ethnic minorities across the UK. We also welcome applications from, LGB and Trans and non binary candidates.
We have made a positive commitment to employing disabled people and guarantee to interview all disabled candidates who meet the minimum essential criteria for the role as set out in role profiles.
If you have strong leadership skills and experience, are adaptable, resilient and can effectively operate at a senior level then we’d like to hear from you!
The Head of the Chief Executive’s Office is a new role within Citizens Advice, and there is an opportunity to shape it in conjunction with the Chief Executive and the Executive Team. You will report to and work closely with the Chief Executive to ensure the best use of her time, supporting her to provide direction to Citizens Advice and to deliver on our priorities.
You will work with the Executive Team and senior leaders to drive action and resolve problems across the breadth of our work. You will be trusted to make decisions and will attend meetings with and on behalf of the Chief Executive, holding your own in difficult conversations. You will contribute to and be part of development activities with the Executive Team and the wider leadership group as we grow our collective leadership. You will embody an outward-facing, engaged and authoritative style for the Chief Executive’s office in dealing with people across Citizens Advice and in the wider charity sector, partners and Government departments.
We’re an equal opportunity employer and equity, diversity and inclusion is important to us. Everyone is welcome at Citizens Advice. We offer a range of flexible working options, and are open to part-time and job sharing too. In fact, several of our leadership team members work four days a week.
