Civitas Recruitment are proud to be partnering with a fantastic international Human Rights charity to help assist in the hiring of their new Head of Legal & Programmes. This is a great opportunity to advance a career in the non-profit sector working specifically on the areas of International Human Rights law and the rights to equality and non-discrimination. This role will utilise the successful candidate’s legal expertise by focusing on key programme areas including litigation and legal services; advocacy; research; and capacity building. This is a fantastic opportunity: there will be a high degree of autonomy in the role, working closely with the Director on the development of the organisation’s long-term objectives.
Who we are looking for?
Ideally you will be a qualified lawyer with experience of working within the Human Rights sector. Exposure to anti-discrimination law will be a bonus but not essential. You will be comfortable in legal research and drafting, with knowledge of international or regional complaints mechanisms adjudicating the right to non-discrimination. You will also be a confident communicator with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders. Add to this you will have a real passion for enabling change in the areas of Human Rights.
We will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis and as such encourage early applications for a detailed JD and informal discussion.
