Claudia Jones Organisation (CJO) is one of the few African Caribbean Women and Families organisations in London. Founded in 1982 at the request of Caribbean women, our National Lottery Community Funded project delivers family centred services for women and families, gender-based violence support, connections for older people, health and wellbeing activities, counselling and therapeutic interventions to inspire and empower African Caribbean heritage women and their families.
The Community Engagement and Support Worker will play an important role within a small and diverse team in maximizing our reach and access to our services by women and families of African Caribbean heritage. Working with family support and specialist gender-based violence workers, the role holder will support women and family involvement in community, training and therapeutic activities, as well as seeking and co-ordinating the development of community and early intervention opportunities to address the needs of women and their families. The role is 21 hours per week.
