Based : At home and Westminster, London
We are a grant-making charity supporting Anglican clergy and their families and we are looking to expand our small team, with the appointment of an additional grants and services officer. You'll be based at home and in our pleasant office near Westminster Abbey and report directly to the Director of Charitable Services.
This is a key role for the charity. You will be the main point of contact for all individual applicants to the charity and will work with colleagues to ensure that grant and services applications are processed efficiently, in line with policy, and that applicants are dealt with compassionately and professionally.
This is an exciting time to be joining us. Ours is a small, friendly office with just eleven staff, but the charity is definitely going places. In 2019 we re-launched the charity with a new brand, website and a fresh strategy, with the aim of reaching more Anglican clergy families in need of our support.
We are looking for a strong team player with excellent attention to detail who is highly motivated with a 'can do' attitude and who is willing to contribute to the overall success of the charity. Experience of working in a grant-making role or knowledge of the occupational benevolence sector are essential.
Candidates will also need to demonstrate good client service skills and IT literacy. Knowledge of the Church of England and the challenges facing those in ordained ministry would be an advantage. You will need to demonstrate sympathy with out Christian ethos, without necessarily being a practising Christian.
We offer an attractive package, including non-contributory pension equal to 10% of gross annual salary, 35-hour week and flexi-time policy.
Clergy Support Trust was originally founded in 1655 and is the largest and oldest charity supporting clergy and their families. In 2020 the charity gave out grants totalling nearly £2.5m to 1,300 households facing hardship or other difficulties. Our aim over the next few years is to expand our support further, especially on preventative services, including an information hub.
If you are keen to join a small and friendly team where you will make a positive difference to clergy families, then we'd love to hear from you.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
