Job description

Clore Social Leadership is one of the UK’s most respected leadership development providers for the social and non-profit sector. Since 2010, and throughout the 2020 crisis, we have supported thousands of social leaders who are changing the world and serving disadvantaged and underserved communities across the UK and globally.

In January 2021, we launched one of our most ambitious projects to date! SharedPurpose is an online community platform for anyone working for positive social change. It aims to stimulate and provoke discussion, push boundaries and inspire action through special events, networking, interest groups and movements of change.

We are looking to recruit someone who is ready to make their mark! The role will suit a dynamic and ambitious community organiser to work within the SharedPurpose team. We are looking for a high achiever with the creativity, energy and discipline to build a diverse and unique series of events and engagement activities. You will be target oriented and continually look for ways to attract new members and strengthen the connection amongst the SharedPurpose community.

Role description

On a daily basis you will deliver a series of excellent events and engagement opportunities, manage the SharedPurpose newsletter, website and social media channels and be responsible for alumni and community relations. This role isn’t for the faint hearted - you will be responsible for some ambitious targets!

Event management

Take ownership of and implement the alumni and community events and engagement plan. This entails developing, planning and managing a broad and high quality programme of events and networking opportunities. This includes:

  • Planning all event logistics leading up to and on the day of the event, creating accurate and comprehensive speaker and chair briefs, event checklists and resources.
  • Building on current strategies and plans, expanding the range of events and engagement opportunities.
  • Researching high profile and expert speakers and chairs for events and activities and maintaining a speaker and chair directory.
  • Creating and updating event and activity information on the SharedPurpose online platform.
  • Working across the organisation to promote SharedPurpose’s events and activities on all relevant platforms and channels.
  • Attending events and welcoming delegates (online, with the potential of being in person).
  • Planning and managing social media updates live from events.
  • Liaising with event partners regarding event logistics and catering requirements for in person events.

Content and engagement

With the support of the team, deliver comprehensive content and engagement campaigns to provide diverse audiences with access to high quality insights. This includes:

  • Researching and acquiring blogs and content from a range of individuals including alumni, programme participants, programme facilitators, staff and sector leaders.
  • Planning and scheduling engaging social media activity across all channels, encouraging debate with a range of communities online.
  • Leading on the creation and delivery of SharedPurpose’s e-communications, including e-newsletters.
  • Researching competitors and current trends, adapting engagement techniques to increase online following.
  • Designing collateral material for social media, e-newsletters and the SharedPurpose website.
  • Writing and editing engaging copy for e-newsletters, the website, reports and publications.
  • Liaising with relevant suppliers, including photographers, videographers and design agencies.
  • Ensuring SharedPurpose’s website and platforms are updated at all times.

Customer service and support

Be the first point of contact for alumni and community engagement and enquiries, putting their needs first at all times. This includes:

  • Upholding and role modelling an excellent customer service level.
  • Managing the general SharedPurpose inbox.
  • Monitoring all event and engagement activities, including regularly producing reports.
  • Prioritising projects and a busy daily workload, and assisting the team with engagement activities, as required.

The above list of responsibilities is not exhaustive, and the post holder may be required to undertake additional tasks and responsibilities, relevant to the scope of the role.
