CNWL Arts in Health Project Worker Position


CNWL Arts in Health are looking for applicants to join the CNWL Arts in Health service, which provides a healthy engagement with the world through the arts.

The role is for a CNWL Arts in Health Project Worker, on a voluntary honorary contract.

This would involve:

  • Leading on participant projects/exhibitions, or weekly art studios

  • Thinking innovatively about creating new projects

  • Fundraising for community work

  • Working closely with CNWL Arts Psychotherapies service and liaising with other secondary care services.

  • Working collaboratively with artists from a variety of backgrounds (Musicians, Actors, Dancers, Visual Artists)

  • Opportunities for presenting CNWL arts in health’s work to different staff groups, CPD and recovery college seminars

We require someone with enthusiasm and experience:

  • In building relationships within health/community settings,

  • Who can bring together an artistic input of working with people with lived experience of mental health issues.

Other important skills needed are knowledge of:

  • Microsoft Word/Excel/Powerpoint.

  • External fundraising processes

The role involves working within the CNWL Arts in Health team, as a step down service from the arts therapies, on a minimum 9 month ‘honorary contract’, with a 3 month probationary period, committing 1-day-per-week. 

As this is a voluntary position we provide travel expenses, access to further training via the learning and development zone and CPD. The position is based working with a Project Lead in either; Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea or Brent areas of London. There is often a need to travel to different sites throughout CNWL NHS Foundation Trust.  This post would suit somebody who is interested in considering an arts based career in mental health.
