Governors Services Advisor 

Main Working Location: Cognus Office (24 Denmark Road, SM52JS)/ Flexible 

Salary Range: £28,356-£37,098 Grade 7 

Permanent, 37 Hours per Week 
 

Cognus Limited is going through an exciting period of growth and development. To support our ambitions, the Company has the following vacancy in its newly established Surrey Governor Services Team.

To be successful, you will need to:

  1. Be an enthusiastic and innovative professional with substantial experience of project work including some previous knowledge of Governors Services within a local authority setting. 
  2. Be a team player who sees teamwork and peer support as key factors in making a success of this role.
  3. Be educated to degree level or equivalent.
  4. Have outstanding English language expertise.

  6. Have outstanding presentation and public speaking skills. 
  7. Have high level of professionalism and an ability to create strong links with all clients. 

The successful candidate will manage administration tasks for the service including the running of the governor’s database, ensuring it consists of accurate and up to date information.

She/he will create standard termly agenda for Surrey schools’ governing bodies, organise and facilitate governors' meetings, support the Government Services Manager and manage the process of Local Authority Governor Nominations.

The post holder will attend to daily services tasks and will be instrumental in developing effective relationship between Governors Services and colleagues in Surrey County Council, school governing bodies, trustees and clerks to governors.
