SYSTEMS MANAGER (COMMEMORATIONS)

Location: May be office based in Maidenhead or can adopt a flexible hybrid option of part home/part office working

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: From £41,440 per annum, pro rata, depending upon experience

Hours: Full Time, 37 hours per week

About the CWGC

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission honours and cares for the men and women of the Commonwealth forces who died in the First and Second World Wars, ensuring they will never be forgotten. Funded by six Member Governments, our work began with building, and now maintaining, cemeteries at 23,000 locations all over the world.

Today, over a century after we first began, our work continues through our staff, supporters and volunteers who preserve our unique cultural, horticultural and architectural heritage and ensure that the stories of those who died are told.

About this Role and You

Our commemorations team are at the heart of the CWGCs mission, to remember those who lost their lives in the First and Second World Wars. The team are integral to ensuring the record databases we keep are accurate, current and of a high quality. To continue our success, the team are embarking on a project to implement a new solution to integrate the existing Casualty, CRM and TRIM databases. 

As our Systems Manager (Commemorations) you will be the champion of the delivery of the digital solutions to improve accuracy and enhance efficiency within the commemorations team. This is a fantastic opportunity to flex your analytical skills and find creative technical enhancements to our historic records.  

You will provide expert advice and training on the use of the databases and seek innovative solutions to present commemorations data in meaningful and engaging ways. To be successful within this position you will have significant experience of SQL and project management, with a successful background of database management.

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline
  • Advanced computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel, Teams and Flow
  • Understanding of SQL and highly skilled in database management
  • Project management experience and relevant qualification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with strong influencing skills
  • Good understanding of data protection requirements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build complex data queries and manipulate large data sets
  • The ability to communicate complex and detailed information with clarity and simplicity
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
