About this job 
This is a brilliant opportunity to join our hardworking, creative and supportive MS Cymru team.

You’ll be communicating with both Welsh- and English-speaking audiences, and you must be a fluent Welsh speaker.

We’re looking for a tenacious, proactive Press and Communications Officer to join our team and help us meet our ambitious goals.

Crucially, you’ll promote and deliver media coverage/strategies to promote our work with a particular emphasis on promoting our fundraising, campaigning and service activity.

You’ll also be our point of contact for media enquiries we receive. And you’ll support the development and delivery of our digital communications, ensuring we have a strong and representative social media presence.

The chosen candidate will have relevant experience (such as a press office, PR agency or journalism), and be comfortable managing competing priorities as part of a busy team. You’ll have excellent writing and communications skills in Welsh and English, and a positive attitude.

We’re looking for someone with excellent bilingual communication skills (Welsh and English) with great news sense, demonstrated through utilising  bilingual media outlets in Wales, and a sound knowledge of Wales and UK media.

About the role 

You’ll co-develop and implement an inclusive bilingual media and communications programme across traditional, digital and social media and maximise our messaging and campaigning impact in Wales through powerful communications. 

You’ll build a sustainable team of proactive volunteers affected by Parkinson’s to energise our communications through their personal stories and participation in communications work.

What you’ll do:

• Manage, monitor and report on the bilingual web pages and Facebook page for Wales

• Maximise coverage for campaigns and fundraising communications in Wales, and produce creative content, including video

• Research and ‘sell’ stories to maximise coverage, involving people affected by Parkinson’s

• Provide Welsh language media interviews

• Conduct media and social media training for staff and volunteers and produce media briefings to support interviews

What you’ll bring:

• Experience of interviewing and case study collection within sensitive topics 

• Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, the media and stakeholders in Wales

• Ability to work co-productively with people affected by Parkinson’s

• Ability to prioritise, work under pressure and enable others to meet challenging deadlines 

• Willingness to participate in the Media and PR out-of-hours on-call cover, and the ability to work flexibly, from home, as member of a dispersed team

We’re looking for an enthusiastic events administrator to join our Competitions team at the Angling Trust. Your mission will be to support our gold standard domestic, national, and international competitions and events.

You’ll work closely with our Head of Competitions and Senior Competitions Administrator, handling a full range of administrative tasks for customers, members, and colleagues.

This is a permanent, full-time role that suits a motivated events administrator who’d like to work alongside a very passionate and supportive team—although our day-to-day can sometimes be demanding, we’re flexible and family-friendly.

What you’ll be doing

· Supporting the planning, preparation, and delivery of our domestic, national, and international competitions and events with the goal of achieving excellence in competition delivery as well as growth in our programme and memberships

· Financial recording, monitoring, and reporting of competitions and events as well as regularly liaising with our finance team, using our iCompleat system to process purchase orders or payments / refunds, and supporting the preparation of annual competitions budgets

· Attending competitions or events as required as well as providing administrative support to colleagues, volunteers, committees, and national teams

· Proactively handling day-to-day correspondence and telephone enquiries, supporting the administration of the competitions webpages and CRM system, and collaborating with your team to produce social media content and press releases

Who you are

· You’re a confident events administrator with a very high standard of customer care and a proven ability to build strong, positive internal and external relationships

· You shine autonomously whilst working within a small team and you have a flexible approach—you’ll be happy to manage a varied workload and ready to pivot with changing priorities

· Numeracy and organisation are some of your strengths and you’re tech savvy, so you know your way around platforms such as Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint

· You’re self-assured, capable, diligent, and detail-oriented with a proactive attitude—and willing to own your continuous professional development

What will make you stand out

· An interest in angling—particularly competition angling

· Familiarity with CRM systems, Wordpress, or updating webpages

Skills and experience required

· Significant experience working as an administrative assistant to senior staff.

· Significant experience in organising meetings.

· Experience in organising complex international travel essential.

· Ability to exercise discretion, and strong judgement and to take appropriate actions without supervision.

· Advanced level in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

· Experience in budget management

· Excellent verbal and written communication

· Demonstrated ability to develop and manage effective administrative systems.

Fundraising and Engagement Officer

About the Role

This role is an exciting opportunity to work for Mind BLMK as part of the Fundraising & Engagement Team. Acting as the first point of contact for all Fundraising & Comms enquiries and in line with Mind BLMK’s Fundraising and Communications Strategy, this is a busy role and will require excellent stewardship and donor care skills as well as meticulous organisation and innovative thinking. As an Ambassador for Mind BLMK, you will need to have a passion for mental health and an ability to operate at all levels.

The successful applicant will generate income and support all aspects of communication and marketing, to help to maximise local support, raise awareness of our work in the community, and by providing exceptional supporter stewardship, in line with Mind BLMK’s Fundraising and Communication strategy.

Key Duties

• Act as the first point of contact for all fundraising enquiries and provide stewardship and donor care for Mind BLMK’s individual givers, corporates, groups, volunteers and other supporters of the charity, in line with the fundraising strategy.
• Act as first point of contact for all marketing, PR and event enquiries.
• Send donors bespoke information and materials to support their fundraising at Mind BLMK.
• Ensure supporter interaction points (telephone, post, email) adhere to the highest standard.
• Support existing and develop new partnerships with corporates, organisations, and individuals, to support income growth.
• Develop and maintain relationships with philanthropists and encourage legacy giving.
• Help with the co-ordination of fundraising volunteers, as requested or as appropriate.
• Help to identify and develop potential areas of fundraising growth and process improvements, in line with the Fundraising Strategy and supporting net income growth.
• Write and send outgoing thank you letters to all income streams.
• Help maintain an up-to-date and accurate supporter database, finance log and fundraising and communications materials.
• Support the implementation of marketing strategies and targeted campaigns; plan, develop, and ensure the production of multi-media communications, PR, and marketing materials and compelling stories.
• Work closely with external organisations in order to raise awareness of services available locally and increase access to provision for individuals across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes.
