Permanent - Full time, 35 hours per week

Location - Head office, Here East Press Centre, 14 East Bay Lane, London, E15 2GW with flexibility to work from head office and home (hybrid)

The role

In this role you will have a caseload of disabled customers who need your advice and guidance. You will empower them to move into work.

Your base will be at our London Office, but you will be working within our extended employment team who deliver to our customers across England and Wales.

Although office based, we offer a hybrid model of delivery so working from home for part of your week is available.

Travel to meet with our customers or stakeholders and events across your local area is part of this role.

We’re looking for an experienced communicator who can help us develop our PR and media strategies. This is a hands-on role with primary responsibility for Thrive’s external PR, media and communications. Reporting to the Head of Marketing & Engagement, the role crosses all functions and work areas and will focus on raising awareness and engagement through a variety of channels.

This is a versatile role with primary responsibility for driving Thrive’s external PR and media activity, which will be key in meeting our objectives of promoting the use of gardening and horticulture to improve health and wellbeing, and to further the development and delivery of therapeutic gardening and horticulture interventions in the UK.

Scope are looking for a personable Online Community Coordinator to join our Online Community Team.

You will work on our online community and help make it a safe and supportive place where disabled people can make friends and talk about what is important to them. 

Permanent, part time, 28 hours a week (some evenings and weekends required).

The hours for this role will be worked according to a rolling shift pattern between 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 6pm Saturdays and Sundays.

Location: Scope's office bases are London office (Here East, E15 2GW) or Scope's Leeds office (LS1 5SH) but the role will involve working remotely for most of the time.

The role

You will work within a team to moderate, create and coordinate content, information, newsletters and manage volunteers.

You will form a key part of the wider online community team by:

• Moderating discussions
• Welcoming, engaging and supporting members
• Signposting members to useful resources
• Sourcing and creating new conversations and content
• Recruiting, training, managing and supporting volunteers
• Escalating safeguarding concerns

After your training period, you will be able to work confidently and independently on our online community in all aspects of the role.

 We are looking for a Marketing & Communications Manager to develop and manage the marketing and communications function and team at Barnwood Trust. This includes Barnwood Trust’s websites, social media channels and print media, as well as responsibility for marketing and logistics planning for public-facing workshops and events.  

Expertise in communications, including delivering high standards of accessibility, implementing organisation-wide communications and marketing strategies, and line management experience are welcomed for this role.

Summary of key duties: 

Management of Barnwood’s external communications channels  

• To engage with a wide range of external audiences, including Barnwood Circle members, potential project partners and participants in our convening and learning activities.  

• To manage communications and marketing strategic plans, and their delivery for Barnwood Trust.  

• To coordinate printed and digital products, in a range of accessible formats and in line with the Trust’s vision.

The role also concentrates on providing expert guidance and support throughout the application process for grants.

In this role you will be:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Researching and identifying grant funding opportunities suitable for disabled households, with a focus on energy support and broader needs.
• Offering tailored advice and support to colleagues, ensuring they are equipped to identify and assist clients with grant applications.
• Creating and maintaining resources, such as guides and templates, to streamline the grant application process for colleagues and customers.
• Conducting training sessions for colleagues on identifying funding opportunities and supporting service users through the application process.
• Analysing feedback and engagement data from customers to refine and enhance the advice and support provided.
• Ensuring all information related to grant opportunities is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to individuals with diverse needs.
• Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to maximize the reach and impact of grant funding support.
• Managing tasks and projects independently to contribute effectively to the team's goals, in line with the organisation’s commitment to equality and inclusion.

About You 

• You will have strong experience in identifying and securing grant funding, preferably with a focus on support for disabled individuals or households. Demonstrated Skills in Training or education, particularly in a support or service context.
• You will play a pivotal role in data analysis to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Energy Services.
• You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal to be able to communicate difficult and complex information. A strong ability to convey complex information in an accessible way and engage diverse audiences.
•  You will be skilled in research and information gathering, with a methodical approach to evaluating grant opportunities. Ability to respond positively to change while being able to work effectively with conflicting priorities.
•  You will be highly organised with the capacity to manage multiple priorities when delivering training sessions and one-to-one support. A collaborative team player, capable of working effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
•  It is essential that you have a good working knowledge of IT including Microsoft Office Products. Excellent attention to detail when using databases and proficient in data analysis for service delivery improvement.
•  You will bring drive and enthusiasm to your role and can demonstrate that you care passionately about improving the lives of disabled people and their families.

Media & Communications Officer

Business Disability Forum is the leading business membership organisation in disability inclusion. Our Communications and Marketing team is working hard to attract more businesses to join us as Members, to increase uptake of our events, products and services, and to help us to become more well-known for our policy work, research and campaigns.

If you want to play a part in creating a more disability inclusive society, have experience working in a media relations role, and a good eye for a story, come and join our busy, friendly team as part-time Media and Communications Officer. 

We are looking for someone who already loves working in media relations, but who can also support broader communications activity. If you have a can-do attitude, the tenacity to pursue media coverage, and great attention to detail, we’d love to hear from you.

The majority of this role will focus on developing and delivering proactive and reactive print, online and broadcast media relations campaigns to promote the benefits of disability inclusion, our membership, products, services and policy work to businesses and policymakers. You would also plan and write content for multiple platforms.

You will have:

• Experience of media relations with a proven track record at officer level.
• Experience selling in stories to journalists with the motivation to keep going and follow up.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience writing content for a range of audiences and channels.
• A flexible approach.

This new part-time role (4 days, Monday and Friday required), is based in our Communications and Marketing Team (6 people) and will work closely with our Media Consultant.

We offer opportunities for flexible working, including variable start and finish times, hybrid or remote working. Most staff work an average of two days a week in our office in London Bridge, London, SE1.

Dyscover is a small, specialist charity providing long term support and opportunities to adults with aphasia, a complex language disability. We are looking for an experienced Business Manager with a strong Fundraising and Marketing background to join our team.

· Experience raising income from a range of income streams particularly Trusts and Foundations also including skills in managing events, individual donors, legacy, corporate and community fundraising.

· Finance and Project management experience.

· Strategic development skills.

This is an essential management role within an expanding, unique and innovative organisation which strives towards being a centre of excellence for people with aphasia.

This is an exciting new role within the organisation and the ideal candidate will be creative, passionate about communications, content and digital and looking to build their expertise in a growing organisation with a global footprint. The role will be varied and the successful candidate will have the chance to work across a variety of key communications activities, with a primary focus on social media.

There will be freedom for creativity and trying out new ideas, with a focus on personal development through training and ongoing support by working closely with the newly promoted Campaigns Manager who previously fulfilled a similar role.

About Face Equality International: 

Face Equality International works to mobilise an alliance of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), charities and support groups to further the campaign for ‘face equality’.

Responsibilities 
 

• Social media – Written, graphic and video content to be produced to support FEI’s mission. With the support from the Campaigns Manager, the Communications Officer will lead on developing engaging content to amplify the voices of the facial difference community. Accessible content standards are essential.  
   

• Graphic/video editing – Using tools such as Canva or CapCut to create and edit content.  
   

• Website updates – All FEI staff have access and responsibility to collectively update our WordPress site in line with their role.
   

• Copywriting – Creating content for social media primarily with the addition of blogs and other written marketing materials on occasion.  
   

• Engagement – Community management and engagement via online channels, including influencer outreach.  
   

• Monitoring and evaluation – using analytics to track impact. 
   

• Ad hoc tasks: Supporting the team with ad hoc administrative and communications duties as requested.

Past experience: 

• Experience of producing content for digital channels is essential.  

• Experience of copywriting is essential.  

• Experience of design programs such as Canva or Photoshop is essential. 

• Experience/knowledge of the social justice and equality movements, particularly those devoted to the disability and disfigurement community, is desirable but not essential.

Knowledge and skills: 

• Excellent communication skills – both written and oral, and the ability to communicate to our diverse global audience with care and professionalism. 

• Good interpersonal skills in order to collaborate with volunteers, staff, members and our wider community.

• Good knowledge of brand guidelines, tone of voice, and adhering to overarching strategy.
