The Director of Operations will be a key member of our leadership team, enabling our growth through strategic and structural operational planning, implementation and delivery, ensuring that we realise our vision across our Resourcing Church network.
The successful candidate will be joining a growing church community at an exciting juncture in our history as we prepare to celebrate our 150th anniversary. Our church is thriving, with a large, diverse, and committed congregation, which reflects our community in Brixton, Camberwell and Kennington. We are a place of welcome and inclusion for LGBTQ+ people, and we are a training parish, with many ordinands, curates and musicians spending time here in recent years.
We have a thriving music programme with over 100 children singing in three choirs weekly, and we are active in our service to the community. We have two church schools, St Gabriel’s College and St John the Divine Primary School, and we are involved in a wide range of community and social action programmes from London Citizens to the Robes homeless shelter.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Vicar of St John the Divine to ensure the strategic priorities of the St John the Divine Resourcing Church network – currently St John the Divine Kennington, St Faith’s North Dulwich, and the Korean congregation at St James’ Malden – are delivered. They will also support our wider leadership team, including clergy, and lay leaders.
As our own network and congregations grow, we anticipate that there will be opportunity for the post-holder to grow the remit of the role and develop their career within the position.
We are looking for a Director of external affairs to help us build relationships that can create breakthroughs for autistic people over the next decade. You will fit in well at Autistica if you are passionate about enabling high performance and you value working with a team who think in diverse ways. You will support and develop the strategy and management of external relationships, communications, campaigns, and policy work.
Key responsibilities
This is role that will sit at the heart of our relationships within the organisation. You will develop our strategies and operational plans for engaging with audiences that are critical to the Autistica mission, including: autistic people and their families, civil servants and politicians, donors, and the press. Here are some key responsibilities:
External Relationships, communications, and policy
- Ensure autism and autism research remain policy priorities, with Autistica continuing to have strong relationships with Department of Health and Social Care and NHS England.
- Ensure we build constructive collaborations and relationships with organisations working in related areas to Autistica.
- Develop relationships with key members of parliament ahead of the election, and post-election (both independently and in collaboration with other autism charities).
- Work with autistic people and families to ensure they help guide or work and priorities and are appropriately represented in our work.
- Act as a credible external ambassador for Autistica across all of Autistica’s key audiences.
- Help to ensure that relationship management systems are seamless across the organisation.
- Ensure internal communications are effective – enabling the team, board, and external stakeholders to aligned with full clarity on the organisation’s direction.
- Work with the fundraising to ensure they have the tools to grow our income and market our work to a range of audiences.
- Work with the research team to deliver on our goal and partnership projects, including the marketing and development of the Neurodiversity Employers Index.
- Run engaging campaigns that bring in new audiences and maximise our pro-bono creative support and other agency and influencer contacts.
- Lead the way in championing our 2030 goals, and autism research to the public, press, and media.
Leadership, management, and operations
- Oversee, implement, and effectively deliver operational plans, a quarterly reporting cycle, monthly reporting of financial figures, and production of our annual report.
- You will be an effective visible leader and manager, passionately championing the charity’s work and building confidence in our strategy and plans.
- You will champion our values and mission with enthusiasm and consistency.
- Ensure organisation measures of success are embedded within team and for planning this year, and subsequent years.
- Help drive organisational change including key organisation-wide priorities.

Who are we looking for?
Desirable experience
- Experience of being at least “head of department” in an organisation overseeing planning, monitoring, management of resources within department and across an organisation. Ideally with a track record of delivering impact through communications and/or policy that has led to change for beneficiaries, income growth, and stronger relationships with key audiences.
- Enjoys and has a track record of overseeing change including system and process improvements.
- Experience of managing, leading or overseeing communications.
- Experience of running or least working with a policy team policy development in areas such as policy development and public affairs.

The Drive Partnership, formed by Respect, SafeLives and Social Finance, is working to transform the national response to perpetrators of domestic abuse. Main purpose and scope of the role:
Parentkind is a national charity and we work across all four nations of the United Kingdom and the devolved institutions and governments.
The successful candidate would be expected to support our work in Northern Ireland and have demonstrable experience of the political system in Northern Ireland.
In addition to their work in Northern Ireland the successful candidate will support the wider aims of the Policy and Research Department across the UK.
We are the voice of parents in education, we represent 13,000 Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs) and have an ambition to develop an internal parent ‘think tank’ within the organisation.
This is an exciting role if you have a passion for politics, a background in policy research and interested in education policy and politics.
The role will involve conducting research on education policy and making policy recommendations based on that research. Some research will be time sensitive and involve summarising information and presenting it in an easy to understand way. There will be longer research projects to support the charity to develop policy positions and maintain our position as a strong voice for parents in education.
Alongside the research requirements of the role, you will be expected to support our political and broader stakeholder engagement activity to make sure the work we do is understood and seen by the right people.
You will have experience of working with political stakeholders in Northern Ireland and a strong understanding of the political structures and processes in Northern Ireland, as well as experience in political engagement to promote research and policy recommendations.

Duties and key responsibilities
Policy research and analysis

- To produce summarise large amounts of information and produce briefing material on education policy for external audiences, often at pace.
- To provide political monitoring and advice for the department, to include:
- debates and questions in the Northern Ireland Assembly
- future business across in the Northern Ireland Assembly,
- policy development.
- To provide rapid briefing material for any relevant future business in the Northern Ireland Assembly
- Draft questions (and an understanding of how to structure questions) in the Northern Ireland Assembly
- To support the development of parent surveys to related to our policy work.
- To support the development of policy recommendations and experience of publishing policy related research.
Political engagement
- To organise policy led events, such as roundtable discussions or meetings of politicians across all U.K. legislatures and experience of managing political events.
- To identify political stakeholders relevant to our work in Northern Ireland, including:
- officials inside government departments,
- elected representatives,
- think tanks and other relevant research institutions.
- To maintain a wide range of political contacts and meet with political stakeholders to promote our research and policy work.
- To meet with organisations with an interest in our work and provide effective briefings.
- To attend party conferences and other education led events to represent Parentkind.
Media engagement
- To support the Director of Policy and Research in media engagement, including background research for press releases.
- To summarise our policy and research ready for social media platforms.
General Responsibilities

- To be flexible within the broad remit of the post.

We are looking for a Fundraising Manager to work predominantly on the Warm Welcome Campaign, whilst also supporting wider fundraising efforts within the Good Faith Partnership. The role will work primarily on Trusts and Foundations, supporting other areas of work within the fundraising function, as necessary.
Joining during an exciting period of growth, you will be inheriting a pipeline of passionate funders who have supported the establishment and rapid growth of the Warm Welcome Campaign since 2022. At the same time, there remains a wealth of funders yet to be approached and relationships to be developed.
You will be responsible for securing significant income for the Warm Welcome Campaign from a variety of sources, mainly from Grant-making bodies. This will involve identifying new opportunities, managing donor relationships and producing compelling communications to promote the work of the Warm Welcome Campaign and the Good Faith Partnership. Reporting to the Development Director, you will work closely with them and other Senior Directors to maximise income potential.
We are also interested in expanding our fundraising with a focus on individual giving, community and corporate fundraising and would value your expertise in these areas.
We have a CRM which will support your activity in:

Developing and maintaining fundraising systems to ensure excellent donor relationships, maintenance and development

Identifying trust and foundation opportunities and overseeing the process of grant applications to prospects and funders as well as reporting and communicating with funders.

Supporting colleagues in identifying and cultivating relationships with current and potential donors.

Overseeing other Warm Welcome fundraising efforts as appropriate
This role will also be responsible for supporting wider efforts at the Good Faith Partnership in relation to fundraising, including:

Supporting colleagues on other GFP projects in fundraising efforts, and scoping funding opportunities for potential new GFP projects.

● Members of the Good Faith team are predominantly based near London, Reading and Bristol. Applicants must be able to travel to London once a month for a Tuesday full team meeting, and to London, Reading or Bristol once a month for coworking.

With a new five-year strategy in place, the Education team play a key role in one of our areas of greatest growth potential; helping to ensure the BIR remains financially sustainable in a changing environment, offering education to more people, and helping grow our membership.
We aim to deliver world class education, training and CPD in a wide range of new and exciting formats, in response to current and future market needs. In 2022/3 the Education team ran 39 events over the year, including 12 virtual events, 11 face-to-face events – including two that were hybrid, and 16 webinars.
JOB SUMMARY
This post is central to the activities of the BIR. The role-holder will ensure effective planning, marketing and delivery of the BIR’s educational events, which includes a combination of both in-person and virtual events. The role is hands-on and often involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
You must be able to complete a wide range of activities requiring clear communication, excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. You must be able to work well under pressure, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery of an event. Some UK travel and out of hours working is involved.
MEETINGS PROGRAMME/TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES
• To plan, coordinate and manage the educational events programme (currently approximately 39 events per year).
• To plan, develop and market the annual events calendar in a timely manner.
• To liaise as required with the Education Committee, Special Interest Groups and Regional Branches ensuring that educational events are proposed and organised within the annual events calendar (involved from inception to delivery).
• To attend and brief all BIR Special Interest Groups and Regional Branches on performance of meetings and events. This includes post-event evaluations (including data entry and analysis and producing reports for event stakeholders and Education Committee).
• Lead the delivery of our key annual events, including managing logistics, administration and engaging with speakers, delegates and sponsors at the event.
• To assist in delivering the education programme in a wide range of new and exciting formats.
• To undertake market research to identify opportunities for events.
• To work closely with ‘event leads’ to ascertain their precise event requirements. Also, responsible for bringing any deviation or potential risk to the programme to the attention of the Director of Educational Development in a timely manner.
• To source and develop relationships with sponsors, event exhibitors and corporate members
• To ensure that all tasks required to produce successful events are allocated to the appropriate staff member and to support staff in performing those tasks. To monitor income against budget and ensure that the BIR income is maximised through delivering excellent programmes and through creative use of facilities.
• To act as an ambassador for the BIR and foster strong relationships with stakeholders including sister organisations and industry contacts
• To prepare the annual budget forecasts for the coming year and monitor and report against performance during the year.
• To scope, secure and book suitable venues or locations for events.
• To ensure health and safety, insurance and legal obligations are adhered to.
• To co-ordinate venue management, caterers, exhibitors, contractors and equipment hire.

Its mission is to bring together all the professions in radiology, oncology and allied medical and scientific disciplines to share knowledge and educate the public, thereby improving the prevention and detection of disease and the management and treatment of patients.
The BIR has embarked on a new five-year strategy, which has established an education department aimed at delivering a programme designed to support training, education and CPD relevant to its membership community in flexible and interactive formats.
JOB SUMMARY
The post holder will work with faculty and BIR staff in the development and use of new learning technologies to support the educational mission of the BIR.
The post holder will manage the existing e-learning resources as well as develop new e-learning offering to our members and users. The poster holder will offer expert guidance, advice and direction on the design, development and implementation of e-learning materials and resources, and the use of interactive educational technologies to lead the e-learning development in BIR.
KEY RESULT AREAS
Manage the e-learning content
• Create new e-learning resources with subject specialists in medical imaging. This includes new initiatives (video course) as well as online learning library content and other e-learning offering.
• Lead and oversee the instructional design for the video courses
• Manage and review the content on the online learning library, including post-event videos, webinar series and training videos etc. Ensure the content are relevant for all categories and promote to our community
Manage the e-learning projects and implementation of e-learning system
• Develop and implement plans and timelines in collaboration with faculty and BIR staff to enable the phased introduction of e-learning projects and systems.
• Lead the team and work across the department to design, develop and manage the online learning elements including layout, tools, templates, authoring and processes.
• Manage all BIR learning systems including live platforms, Learning Management System as well as CRM system for event registration, online learning library and e-posters
• Develop and design technological solutions for problems specific to BIR educational activities.
• Maintain and review the systems for new updates to improve staff and user experiences
• Manage budget of the projects and ensure surplus of any e-learning development
• Cultivate and oversee essential relationships with external sister organizations to facilitate the successful execution of e-learning projects
Manage the digital team (video producer and digital event assistant)

Support and promote the use of the educational technologies
• Develop guides and provide support for faculty & BIR staff in the use of the e-learning technologies, enabling the creation and management of learning materials.

• Deliver training sessions to both BIR staff and users, instructing them on the effective utilization of BIR learning systems.
Lead the development of new e-learning initiatives
• Meet with and work alongside faculty and BIR staff to ensure the successful implementation of appropriate strategies and initiatives for e-learning.
• Encourage faculty to explore innovative approaches and tools in the delivery of educational activities in their field.

Job Responsibilities
The General Manager is integral to the management of Deptford X and the delivery and development of its ambitious programmes. The General Manager works closely with the Director and Board of Trustees as part of a small and supportive team to contribute actively and creatively to the development of the organisation, as well as overseeing daily and organisational operations. The General Manager supervises office management, communications, administration, financial management, staffing, programme delivery logistics, reporting and evaluation; and works collaboratively with the Director on strategic and financial development, including embedded environmental sustainability. In addition to the above, the General Manager will lead on developing and dynamically integrating Deptford X's access and care agenda.
