From Spring 2024 we will have forty-three centres and extension projects across England and Scotland, with a
number of new centres planned for 2023-24, and ambitious plans to scale-up our provision further over the coming years.
We are looking for people who will thrive in a fast-paced, rewarding role helping to change the lives of young people by taking up a fixed-term full-time role as an Education Worker at one of our centres in London. You will work closely with our existing team, supporting the delivery and organisation of the IntoUniversity programme in the centre.

The Position:
You will be joining our small, passionate NGO to coordinator our digital presence. Reporting directly to our Head of Programmes and working with our Digital Growth Lead, you will be tasked with growing our digital presence on social media. This will involve organising and coordinating creative digital campaigns, creating assets for use on social media and updating our website and landing pages to support digital presence building.
The applicant needs to be witty, creative, motivated, interested in counter-extremism and passionate about political and media literacy.
Location: London
Salary: £26,000 – £27,000 p/a depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow SOUK social media profiles across multiple platforms, including responding to related comments.
- Create dynamic (e.g. Reels) and static assets for use on social media, including viral campaigns and initiatives.
- Plan and implement a yearly content calendar, coordinating with the wider team to ensure active participation.
- Manage and support the updating of SOUK Websites.
- Write and support the edit of website related content.
- Acting as first point of contact for inbound general communications from externals (e.g. DMs or enquires through website)
- Fulfil other duties as reasonably requested.
- Occasionally travel nationally and/or internationally, if required.

The Development and Alumni Relations Office exists to support our academic and student community by engaging, inspiring, and celebrating alumni, individuals, and charitable funders who give their money, time, and networks to support the University’s strategic priorities. An excellent communications professional with experience developing social media campaigns and writing for print, web and social media, the Communications Officer (Digital) will work as part of the Development and Alumni Relations (DARO) Communications Team to deliver our overall strategy, and to champion our digital activity. You will be expected to follow a brief and produce high quality impact-driven copy, video, email newsletters and digital content, appropriate for target audiences, for print and online publication, email newsletters and individual communication and will creatively and effectively use social media platforms and the DARO web presence. In addition to the core alumni audience, you will be responsible for the student and young alumni audiences. Experience in producing content for young people and international audiences, and in fundraising communications would be highly desirable.

PLEASE NOTE: Although listed as hybrid, this position is mostly remote. However, you may be expected to attend some meetings at our office in Central London (EC4) - where you also have the option of working several days each week (if you prefer). We are currently seeking a new Digital Marketing Executive, to join our marketing and digital team. We are looking for a talented, dynamic and well-organised individual, who can help devise, develop and execute impactful marketing and digital campaigns across the entire spectrum of CTSI's products and services. As one of the key drivers of our marketing and digital comms, you won’t just follow orders! You should relish the chance to take the lead on the planning and execution of marketing campaigns and activities. You’ll use your skills, judgement, creativity and hard-work to deliver compelling brand narratives and a positive ROI. 2+ years UK experience of Google Ad Words (ideally, with experience managing a Google for Nonprofits Ad Grant) and other popular digital marketing tools is essential. As is the ability to learn fast, on the job. Familiarity with popular Content Management Systems is also desirable.
You should possess a hybrid analytical/creative mind - with great writing skills, a good eye for design (i.e. website ‘look and feel’), and excellent attention to detail. In addition to digital marketing and social media channels, you’ll get the chance to work on a major website redevelopment project, and work with our busy content production team (incl. photo/video content).

At In2scienceUK our mission is to promote social mobility and build brighter futures for those pursuing science, technology, engineering and maths. We do this by leveraging the skills and passion of STEM professionals to support young people from less advantaged backgrounds to progress to degrees and careers in STEM.
We are looking for a creative, strategic and ambitious Press and Communications Officer to secure media coverage that will help to ensure our message reaches a broad audience. This opportunity would be ideal for you if you are looking to use your story-telling skills and talent for crafting copy, your understanding of the media, and your strategic thinking to get media attention and build relationships with key journalists and influencers to positively influence the lives of hundreds of young people benefiting from our programmes.

Key responsibilities

Bring your flair for storytelling to In2scienceUK’s communications, bringing our work to life and demonstrating the impact and value of what we do to all of our audiences.

Work with the Communications and Marketing Manager to devise strategies for securing impactful media coverage of In2scienceUK’s work, and help plan communications output accordingly.

Develop and implement strategies to build our brand presence in key industry sectors, including working with and securing coverage in industry media/trade publications to support our fundraising objectives.

Identify, create and respond to high-quality media opportunities, both internally and externally, to deliver positive coverage, maximise our activities, and build our presence in line with our strategic objectives.

Identify opportunities to promote In2scienceUK’s work at key sector events, attending relevant events to represent our work as well as collaborating and supporting internal teams to plan and deliver impactful events.

Cultivate and maintain a strong network of media contacts, building effective relationships with journalists, publishers, podcasters, influencers, thought leaders and experts to build In2scienceUK’s profile as a “go-to” organisation.

Building and maintaining relationships with alumni and participants to promote success stories and identify speaking/press opportunities.

Lead on developing a range of PR materials including press releases, blogs, advertorials, interview briefs, social media posts and newsletters to effectively communicate our mission to a wide range of audiences.

Work with communications & data teams to identify trends and opportunities for further press outreach with the aim of reaching the right audiences to grow our following in the UK.

Work with the communications and marketing manager to coordinate media and communications work across our organisation, as well as stepping in and helping out where needed.
Person Specification

Proven experience of generating media coverage by working with UK-wide, local and regional media, as well as trade press, ideally in a charity sector organisation.

Demonstrated understanding of how to craft and pitch stories to appeal to a variety of media outlets.

Experience of planning, executing and monitoring media plans.

Experience of working with colleagues from across an organisation to identify case studies and opportunities to develop compelling stories and impactful media coverage.

Exceptionally strong writing skills, with a passion for telling compelling stories, and crafting messages in compelling ways for various audiences, balancing impact, simplicity, and accuracy.

Confident in creating a range of media and press assets across all channels, including digital and social media.

Experience of supporting the planning, delivery and coverage of events for key stakeholders.

Excellent organisational and time management skills, and the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
