CPRE’s Volunteering Development Officer provides excellent advice on best practice in volunteer engagement so we ensure people from all walks of life can volunteer with us. You’ll work with the network of 40 county-based charities and with our national CPRE to expand how we campaign for the countryside through volunteering.
You’ll be working part-time (three days a week) in our Volunteering & Participation team, with the Volunteering and Participation Manager and Volunteering Development Assistant. You’ll also work closely with our Director of Communities and Participation and the Network Engagement team, who are part of the wider Communities and Participation Directorate.
This varied role helps to deliver CPRE’s volunteering strategy, to find a way in for everyone to care for the countryside. You’ll be supporting volunteer coordinators, trustees and others to identify priority volunteer vacancies and assist in driving the recruitment of a diverse range of new volunteers.
You’ll encourage peer to peer networking with Volunteer Coordinators, welcoming new volunteer coordinators into the group and hosting network meetings. Working closely with the Volunteering Development Assistant you’ll be key to the delivery of both our national online volunteer induction programme and our national volunteer awards programme. These initiatives aim to give volunteers a warm welcome to the charity, and recognise and celebrate volunteer achievement.
You’ll receive training to use our volunteer management system Assemble and you’ll support others to make the best use of the system. You’ll be adept at collaborative working, and you’ll be supportive of increasing the diversity of people who volunteer for CPRE. You’ll also have the opportunity to work with the team to deliver training, and you’ll be able to develop interesting, impactful new volunteering roles with national and local teams.

About the role
Join us at the forefront of social change as our new Events & Digital Marketing Officer. You'll play a pivotal role in managing way we engage with our audiences, so that we amplify our mission to end poverty in the UK.
In this dynamic role, you’ll spearhead the marketing and delivery of high-profile (virtual and in-person) events as well as other content. You’ll be harnessing the power, reach and capabilities of digital platforms to ensure we engage the right stakeholders which include policymakers, sector experts and the public. Your job will be to provide expert advice on how best to reach out and connect with them, and then making that happen.
About You
We’re looking for someone who’s motivated by bringing the right people together to drive meaningful change. For this role you’ll need to be passionate about tackling social injustice and want to play a part in making a difference for people trapped in poverty in the UK.
With a background in B2B digital marketing and demonstrable experience in managing end-to-end event marketing campaigns, you will use your knowledge to gain a clear picture of JRF’s audiences and the content they engage with. You’ll have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to quickly build a strong rapport with internal and external stakeholders, whilst managing multiple ongoing projects.

About the Role
The Chief Executive Officer will have as their overarching purpose the realisation of the mission of the charity; to provide disadvantaged young people with the guidance, networks and opportunities they need to realise their potential at school and achieve post-16 qualifications that build towards secure, fulfilling employment.
They will be responsible for safeguarding, leadership, financial sustainability, management and administration of the charity in delivering against the mission and in the development and execution of strategy, in agreement with the Board of Trustees.

The Director of Operations will be a key member of our leadership team, enabling our growth through strategic and structural operational planning, implementation and delivery, ensuring that we realise our vision across our Resourcing Church network.
The successful candidate will be joining a growing church community at an exciting juncture in our history as we prepare to celebrate our 150th anniversary. Our church is thriving, with a large, diverse, and committed congregation, which reflects our community in Brixton, Camberwell and Kennington. We are a place of welcome and inclusion for LGBTQ+ people, and we are a training parish, with many ordinands, curates and musicians spending time here in recent years.
We have a thriving music programme with over 100 children singing in three choirs weekly, and we are active in our service to the community. We have two church schools, St Gabriel’s College and St John the Divine Primary School, and we are involved in a wide range of community and social action programmes from London Citizens to the Robes homeless shelter.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Vicar of St John the Divine to ensure the strategic priorities of the St John the Divine Resourcing Church network – currently St John the Divine Kennington, St Faith’s North Dulwich, and the Korean congregation at St James’ Malden – are delivered. Royal Greenwich Heritage Trust (RGHT) manages the important historic buildings and community assets for the Royal Borough of Greenwich. These include Charlton House and Gardens, the Archive and Museum Collections, Tudor Barn, and various memorials across the Borough. Our mission is to help people discover and enjoy the history and heritage stories of the Royal Borough of Greenwich; to conserve these heritage assets and ensure that they are shared with as many people as possible. Our regular activities include tours, events, venue hire, weddings, education programmes, exhibitions, and an archive service, working with partners and volunteers to manage the assets in our care.
The Head of Marketing & Commercial has overall responsibility for the Trust’s marketing, room and site hire, and events. They ensure a continual public programme, commercial events and marketing efforts for year-round activities are in line with the vision and strategic plan, and that income targets are met, working in collaboration with the Finance and Programming Committee of the Board.
You will be responsible for:
1) The effective marketing and communication of all activities at the Trust.
2) Managing the hire of our rooms and grounds for events, weddings, celebrations and corporate use.
3) Overseeing the production and delivery of projects and programmes to highlight the assets in our care, leading to audience growth on site and meaningful engagement primarily across the Royal Borough.
4) Seeking potential funding for activities.
As part of our Leadership Team you will drive strategic change; identifying programme opportunities and growing our audiences using your understanding of audience data collection and evaluation. Experience leading a team and working with external suppliers and a diverse stakeholder community is essential as well as your ability to deliver events that generate commercial and philanthropic income. You will understand audiences commercially as well as from a cultural sector perspective.

Leadership and Management
1. Work as a key member of the Leadership Team, collaborating with and alongside colleagues to provide the strategic leadership required to ensure the Trust’s long-term commercial and public engagement programme.
2. To manage the Venue Sales Team to maximise income through sales of the rooms and grounds and development of events.
3. Provide guidance to the CEO and the Trustees, to ensure the Trust is delivering through its programme, public benefit via access, learning and conservation.
4. Contribute to, and support, the conception and development of new projects that will drive business development and income generation opportunities to deliver the Trust’s objectives.
5. To seek funding opportunities for projects.
6. Attend the Finance and Programming Committee of the Board.
7. Work closely with the Finance Manager to create and implement an annual budget.
8. To be responsible for the Marketing plan and its delivery across all aspects of the Trust’s activity.
Marketing and Communications
8. To oversee the management of the brand and act as brand guardian
9. To generate marketing and communications strategy
10. To deliver the marketing strategy: design, print, digital, research, communications
11. To create Marketing Assets: newsletters, social media posts, website content
12. To ensure RGHT is promoted effectively and efficiently, including monitoring impact of campaigns to ensure Return on Investment.
13. To generate audiences for Trust’s activities and widen the demographics.
Commercial: Hire and events programming
14. Manage the Venue Sales Manager and Bookings Co-ordinator to develop and deliver the Trust’s activities programme to generate maximum profit from hire of the estate for functions, filming, community use.
15. Trial and deliver new approaches to income generating activity and events.
16. Develop a paid for programme of activity that provides access to the heritage in our care to new audiences, including the development, implementation, monitoring, impact and overall success of the programme.
17. Ensure all programming delivers significant Return on Investment where external grant funding is not available, supporting the income generation targets of the Trust.
General
In addition to the specific duties above, all RGHT employees should be aware of their responsibilities towards the following:
1. To work as part of a small team and contribute to the overall aims and objectives of the Trust.
