£24,000 per annum inc. LW (FTE £40,000)
for 21 hours/week plus 3% contributory pension
We are a small, active community association serving the diverse population of West Hampstead in the London Borough of Camden.
We are seeking an energetic and motivated Manager to lead us in the next phase of our development.
This post will suit an outgoing person, with the drive to take on the challenge of developing the services and activities of our Community Association, raising funds, and extending cooperation with other organisations in the area. We want someone with experience of fundraising, good management, communication and networking skills, and used to working at community level.
The Covid disruption has resulted in trying out new ways of delivering our services e.g., online classes, telephone befriending. The organisation is now in a strong place for the next stage of its development Fundraising from trusts and charities, particularly for core costs and new projects, will therefore continue to be a crucial part of this post in order to put the organisation on a strong financial base while continuing to meet its aim of ‘bringing the local community together’
The Manager is supported by a Centre Administrator, responsible for the day-to-day management of the Association and Community Centre, and administration of the classes and activities that take place. Two part-time staff and sessional workers deliver services for children and older people. The Manager also has the back-up of a range of part-time sessional staff to run activities, a team of volunteers, and committed and supportive trustees.
The Manager’s 21 hours can be worked over three to four days a week; some flexibility will be required, including occasional evening and weekend working.
