JOB TITLE: Community Engagement worker

SALARY SCALE: £29,750

HOURS: Full-time (35 hours per week)

LENGTH OF CONTRACT: until 31st March 2022           

LOCATION: Flexible         

ANNUAL LEAVE: 28 days per annum excluding bank holidays

PENSION PAYMENT: CommUNITY Barnet will make a pension contribution into a workplace pension scheme

Big Local is an exciting opportunity for residents in 150 areas in the UK to use at least £1m of national lottery money over a 10-year period to make a lasting and measurable difference to their communities.

The Wembley Central Big Local Partnership Board (WFBL), in association with CommUNITY Barnet (the Locally Trusted Organisation) wishes to appoint a member a Community Engagement Officer on a fixed term contract to support local volunteers and residents to implement the Big Local Plan and the management and delivery of its priorities.

Located in Wembley Central, north west London, this role would ideally suit a person who is inspired by enabling local communities to actively change their local area and can communicate this enthusiasm to others.  

We are looking to appoint a confident self-starter with experience community development, youth work and/or project management.  You will need analytical skills to track, monitor and evaluate the progress of projects, with the ability to produce appropriate, clear, written update reports. Good IT skills are essential as is the ability to communicate with potential volunteers and the wider community.

Our ideal candidate is someone familiar with the local area, has a positive, flexible and can-do attitude. You must have the business skills to ensure WCBL always achieves value for money to support the Big Local Plan priorities.  Successful applicants will need to demonstrate a commitment to, and an understanding of equal opportunities, diversity and safeguarding.
