Job description

Community Catalysts is a vibrant social enterprise working across the UK. Since 2007 we have worked with partners in more than 90 local authority areas who are keen to improve their reach, understanding and relationships with local communities.

In 2018 we became the proud home of Local Area Coordination in England and Wales. We lead the development of this unique and exciting approach in two key ways; firstly, by supporting the design and development of it in partnership with new areas and secondly by convening the impressive ‘Local Area Coordination Network’ of councils who have already started it.

These are exciting times for Local Area Coordination. With over 30 years of international and UK evidence behind it we are seeing a growing national acknowledgement of the transformative outcomes it helps to create alongside local people, families, communities and service systems alike.

With this role we are seeking someone brilliant to join us on the Local Area Coordination journey, getting alongside our Network members and supporting them in bringing the vision to life where they are.

The post

The post holder will be given the scope, tools and support to shape the work within three clear strategic areas:

  1. Lead and develop Local Area Coordination Network activity.
  2. Lead the development of our learning resources and opportunities.
  3. Ensure more stories, data and insights are generated about Local Area Coordination.

The post holder will be responsible for effective and regular engagement with Local Area Coordination Network members as well as the day-to-day operational management and development of agreed streams of work. They will work closely with both the Local Area Coordination Network Director, the Network Coordinator and the wider Community Catalysts Team on other strands of relevant work when needed to.

The Local Area Coordination Network member local authorities are based right across England and Wales, so the ability to travel is essential, although much of the development work associated with this post will be delivered virtually online.

Closing date for applications is 16th May 2022 at 1.00pm. Shortlisted candidates will be required for an hour to give an online presentation on the 24th May to a group of Local Area Coordination Network members followed by an interview on the 25th May in Harrogate.

We welcome applications from people from all sections of the community.
