Job description

Founded in 2008, the Foundation has distributed £1.7 in grants to over 1,000 community organisations across the Wakefield metropolitan district.  Although this has had a significant impact, the current crisis has made the role of the foundation more important than ever, as we work to increase the resources available to meet current and future community need.

The successful candidate has specific responsibility for reviewing the Foundation’s fundraising strategy in order to maximise the funds available for grant-making. In addition, the foundation is focusing on developing its membership scheme – Investors in Communities – and running major events of which the annual Wakefield Volunteer Awards – Unsung Heroes – is now well established across the district.

With the retirement of the current post-holder this autumn, we are looking for an experienced fundraiser with a passion for community development. S/he will have a strong vision for how the foundation can achieve and surpass its potential and income targets, capitalising on the opportunities available locally, regionally and nationally with particular reference to business and their commitment to supporting the communities of Wakefield District. This is an opportunity to make a major impact on what we do and how we do it.
