An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Advisor to join our Advice Team at Community Links.

Community Links is a community charity, rooted in east London, providing support and opportunities to thousands of people every year. We have been transforming lives for over 40 years and are founded on two principles: to find new solutions to old problems and to deliver them with the whole community.

Our Advice Team, comprising of paid and volunteer advisers and lawyers, provides a range of legal services, including:

  • A Form Filling Clinic, assisting with the completion of Benefit and Housing Registration Forms,
  • Benefit Tribunal, Appeals' Representation
  • Expert Housing Advice from solicitors
  • Accredited Debt Advice provided by qualified experts
  • Consumer and Employment Legal Advice given by pro bono lawyers

We are looking for a Senior Advisor to assist our clients with high-quality, welfare benefits advice, including casework.  Your responsibilities will include delivering advice and training, co-ordinating our 'open door’, ‘benefits check’ and ‘form filling’ services, and supervising staff and volunteers.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need experience of giving welfare benefits advice, at casework level.  Specialist knowledge of welfare benefits, including legacy benefits and universal credit is also essential.  You’ll need excellent communication, interpersonal and partnership working skills.

Benefits include flexible working options, rewards / discount scheme and a cycle to work scheme.
