Community Support Manager

A critical community support management role for one of the UK’s leading charities.

Position: Day Support Manager/Community Support Manager

Location: Leeds

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: 35 per week

Salary: £21,366.00 actual per annum

About the role:

You will manage the delivery of Day Support and Community Support Services for younger people with dementia up to the age of 65 years old. Based from Armley Grange Day Centre in Leeds you will be responsible for the overall management of staff working in both Day Support and Community Support Services and have experience of managing the recruitment, learning and development of staff and volunteers. Our Day Support Service provides formally arranged support for younger people with dementia in a safe and secure environment using trained staff and volunteers. Our specialist Community Support service provides one-to-one outreach support to younger people with dementia and their family/carer in a person-centred approach.

About you:

We are looking for an individual who possesses NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent and be prepared to work towards level 4. You will have an excellent understanding of dementia and the needs of those affected by it. To be successful in this role you will have experience of managing staff and volunteers and leading a team, along with the ability to provide person centred assessment of need with a clear understanding of the need for client confidentially essential to providing valuable and worthwhile services. You will have excellent non-judgemental communication skills as well as strong organisational and time management skills to administrate and organise your own work effectively.

Reporting to the Services Manager you will be required to have experience of maintaining regular contact with referring agencies and experience of collaborative working with statutory and voluntary agencies to creatively develop these services. The Day Support and Community Support services are not registered services and therefore do not provide personal care as defined by the Care Quality Commission.
