Job Title:                   Trust Fundraising Intern

Reporting to:             Trust Fundraising Manager 

Place of Work:           St Christopher’s Hospice, Sydenham SE26

Contract:                   4-6 months

Hours of Work:          35 hrs per week

Salary:                        £1,500 per month


Job Summary

Compton Fundraising is looking for an Intern to join our fundraising team based at St Christopher’s Hospice, to assist with Trust Funding.

St Christopher’s Hospice is located in Sydenham, South London and provides end of life palliative care across the boroughs of Bromley, Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark. It costs over £20m to run all Hospice services and the fundraising department is responsible for generating almost £9m.

The role will include:

  • researching grant makers using databases and search engines
  • matching funding opportunities to projects
  • preparing proposals
  • contributing to the strategic development of the trust team
  • representing the Hospice at bespoke events, outside of normal work hours, to raise the profile of the Hospice and network with relevant trust contacts.

Person Specification

Well presented, confident, articulate with the ability to write clearly and concisely, you will possess an open, creative, enquiring mind and have an enthusiasm for fundraising and commitment to the aims and objectives of Compton’s work at St Christopher’s Hospice.

The intern will be trained and supervised on a daily basis by experienced Compton consultants. Successful completion of the internship will lead to a junior consultant role within Compton, so this could be the first step in a career in the Third Sector with the UK’s leading fundraising consultancy.
