Job description
The Senior Communications Officer will proactively assist in the development and delivery of the Concern (UK) communications strategy and operational plans in driving awareness and understanding of Concern Worldwide (UK)’s work, and the issues we work on, with our target audiences. Working closely with the Director of Communications this is a key post in developing Concern’s communications capacity.

About You:

You will have a minimum 4 years’ work experience in a communications role and possess excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to adapt and appeal to various audiences. You will have demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the media with a track record of effective targeting and achievement. A confident self-starter with excellent planning and organisational skills. This role will best suit a creative and enthusiastic individual who can influence and negotiate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Concern Worldwide is a non-governmental, international humanitarian organisation dedicated to the reduction of suffering and working towards the ultimate elimination of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest countries. Our mission is to transform the lives of people living in extreme poverty. We work with 25 million people each year, in some of the hardest to reach and most fragile places. Places prone to conflict, natural disasters, climate change and extreme hunger. When an emergency strikes, we are among the first on the ground. We use our voice to bring the stories of extreme poverty to world leaders.

Concern UK is currently working remotely in line with UK Government's Covid guidelines. However, once Covid restrictions change, Concern UK is aiming to implement hybrid working with appropriate safety measures in place. This will be a blend of weekly office attendance and remote working based in UK.

Our London office is located 10 minutes’ walk from Clapham Junction Station, a riverside office with great views, tranquil surroundings, and easy access to local amenities.

Salary: £39,403 - £43,551 per annum (Inside London) £36,192 - £40,002 (Outside London)
It is company policy to start new employees at the beginning of their pay band.

Contract Type: Permanent
