About Age UK London
Age UK London is a charity that campaigns for an age-friendly London. We campaign for specific changes to improve the lives of older Londoners and ensure that their experiences, needs and contributions are heard and taken into account by decision makers.
We do this in three ways:
· Core campaigns, through which we will secure specific, sustainable changes to the policies and practices of decision makers to improve the lives of older Londoners.
· Shaping the agenda, by ensuring that the experiences, needs and contributions of older Londoners are heard by decision makers and form part of the public discourse on the future of London.
· Supporting the London network of local Age UKs. An age-friendly city relies on both campaigning and direct service provision, so we support the network of local Age UKs in London who deliver vital front-line services.
Since becoming a charity focused solely on campaigning in 2019, Age UK London has adopted and implemented a new strategy. We have agreed campaign priorities; successfully changed policy at a London-wide and borough level; and adapted our finance, HR and IT systems to better support a campaigning charity.
Who we're looking for
We are looking for a candidate to cover our CEO’s maternity leave from the end of May 2024 until the middle of February 2025 to oversee the continued delivery of the charity's current strategy. This includes securing policy changes in our current campaign priority areas of digital inclusion, public toilet provision and poverty amongst older Londoners; supporting the development of new campaigns; and establishing systems to increase our financial sustainability.
To apply please submit a CV and a covering letter of no more than two sides outlining your interest in and suitability for the role.

Denville Hall
Appeal Director
£70,000
Hybrid
Full-time
Opened in 1926 as the ‘Haven for elderly actors & actresses’, Denville Hall has been providing care for actors and members of the wider theatrical industry ever since.
Care, happiness and dignity are our core values at Denville Hall.
We are one of just two adult social care facilities in the UK that is dedicated to the support of members of the theatre dance and music professions. While some achieve notable success, there are many who do not and pursuing a career in theatre and the arts can be a precarious business.
Denville Hall already provides a range of residential care services that are tailored to individual need and wishes, which can support people over time. The addition of sheltered accommodation offers the opportunity for us to extend the length of care and support that we are able to offer members of the arts professions whom we exist to serve.
The need for sheltered housing accommodation is clear and present. Quite simply, people are living longer and like all of us, they want to be independent as possible for as long as possible.
We have the plans and all the necessary planning permission for what we anticipate will be a very successful and high-profile £12m capital appeal. Already we have support promised from some of the UK’s house-hold names and are hopeful that we will also receive support from trusts and foundations dedicated to the support of the arts.
All that is needed now is an Appeal Director to deliver on all the promise that exists and that will leave a last legacy for both Denville Hall for the next 100 years as we will celebrate our centenary in 2026.
How to apply
For an informal conversation about the role, please contact our recruitment partner, Simon Lloyd, Director, NFP contact details on our website listing.
Application is by way of CV and a Supporting Statement, which should outline your motivations for wanting to be our Appeal Director and set out your credentials.

Respect is a pioneering UK membership organisation in the domestic abuse sector. Founded in 2000, we have built our expertise over the last 23 years in what was then a fledgling sector.
Our vision is to end domestic abuse. It's a simple ask and a daunting task. We know it will take generations of hard work to get there. In the meantime, we want to live in a world where domestic abuse is not tolerated where perpetrators are held to account and survivors' safety and wellbeing is centred.
We are a growing charity and one that is focussed on tackling domestic abuse by holding perpetrators to account and working with young people who use violence in their close relationships. We are a second tier organisation whose key purpose is to support our sector to grow and thrive; to innovate and act as a catalyst for the development of practice and good quality service provision; and to influence public policy and bring about social change.
Over the last 7 years have grown our annual turnover from £750k a year to over £3m.
The management of our finances is of fundamental importance to making the best use of the resources, plan for our future, and to enable robust and timely decision making. As we grow and develop as an organisation we need to ensure that our financial procedures and processes are developed and maintained, along with concise and accurate reporting to funders, our leadership teams and our Board.
Operations is also a crucial area of our work. We have a brilliant and inspirational staff team, a positive working environment and a culture of listening, learning and development. This leadership role is critical in maintaining our organisational culture.
We have recently published a bold and ambitious 5 year strategy (2023-2028) and we are looking for someone to build on the existing work of our finance team, identify areas for improvement and develop our finance systems allowing us to make strategic evidence based financial decisions, helping to shape the use of our resources and the direction of the charity.
How to apply
We particularly welcome applications from individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and across all protected characteristics, particularly from people from the following under-represented groups on our staff team; Black and minoritised people, disabled people
