Herts Young Homeless is an independent charity and has been supporting vulnerable people in Hertfordshire since 1998. We are professional, passionate, collaborative and supportive charity that provides guidance to everyone who is in need of support.

We are looking for dedicated and passionate Events Officer to join our team based in Hatfield!

Manage, develop and evaluate an engaging programme of events fundraising, and support the Community Fundraising Officer when delivering local events to raise a target income of £90k . Support groups and individuals organising fundraising events and activities on behalf of hyh. To support the development and delivery of the Communications Plan.

What will you be doing? 

Contribute to hyh’s overall Fundraising strategy as a member of the Fundraising Team

• Identify, develop and support existing and new community and events fundraising activities to increase and generate significant net income and supporter engagement
• Provide excellent donor care for all fundraising activities, to develop productive and lasting relationships with the community and convert them into loyal supporters
  
• Assist the Head of Fundraising & Communications  in the development and delivery of hyh’s Events and Communications Plans
• Update donor CRM databases and website

The Integrations & Imports Team manage a wide range of data sources which feed into our CRM (currently The Raiser’s Edge). We also help to ensure data quality pre- and post-import as well as resolving causes of errors.

About the Role

The Integrations & Imports Team handles large volumes of incoming supporter data which is vital for our fundraising, campaigning, and volunteering activities. Due to internal opportunities, we are seeking a fixed term Senior Imports Officer to work in a very varied role to:

• Help the Team ensure seamless and timely delivery of high-quality data
• Spot and fix data problems
• Help check and clean data
• Maintain existing and develop new imports as required 
• Work with and support colleagues within the Team and in other stakeholder teams across Crisis

Job Purpose

Money Minded: Professional advice and support because your mental health matters

Money Minded is a new service designed to support adults, (18 years and over) in Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Hounslow. The service provides support with welfare benefits, accessing debt support, housing and well-being/peer support groups/workshops. 

The role of the Mental Health Information and Advice Officer will be to provide advice, guidance and customer representation to tri-borough Residents living with Mental Health difficulties. Advice issues may include, housing, benefits, council tax, accessing debt support, signposting etc. 

The successful candidate will deliver support to enquirers and manage a caseload of individuals, as agreed with the Service Manager. In addition to advice casework, the Mental Health Information and Advice Officer will also be expected to assist onboarding referrals to the service, as and when needed. 

The successful candidate will be required to work alongside the Team Leader and volunteers supporting on the project, within the Advice Quality Standard framework (AQS) and adhere to Mind’s policies and procedures. 

Due to the nature of the work, if successful, you will need to have an up-to-date DBS check completed, prior to undertaking unsupervised client work.

About the Role: This is an interesting and varied role. As the post holder you'll be not only be setting up, administering and delivering schemes and activities to benefit Barnet’s looked after young people, you'll also be creating marketing materials and supporting fundraising events.  Promoting the work of our charity is key too through updating our website, writing our quarterly newsletter and social media channels, as well as supporting the running and administration of the charity. 

About You:

You'll have experience of managing and delivering projects, schemes or activities and supporting administrative tasks including keeping accurate records, financial tracking and expenditure.
 
You'll also have experience of creating engaging content for newsletters, websites and/or social media channels especially Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram and building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver common goals.

Our programme supporting Higher Technical Education has big ambitions. Known as the ‘missing middle’ of higher education in England, we want to see the declines in level 4 and 5 technical education reversed and more providers emerge who can offer high-quality education and training to help people access highskilled occupations. Key to this transformation is the role of Institutes of Technology (IoTs) – collaborations between further education colleges, universities and employers – and we have been working closely with the National Network of Institutes of Technology to support their success. We are looking for a Project Officer to play an integral part in the successful delivery of this programme, as well as becoming an advocate for Higher Technical Qualifications more broadly. 

This role sits within the small Higher Education Team at Gatsby, and you will work closely with the Project Manager and Director of Programmes to: develop and deliver a range of projects to support our programme objectives; represent Gatsby at external meetings; organise meetings and events; and develop strong working relationships with key partners.

• Personally securing substantial gifts from Trusts and Foundations (up to £150k)
• Delivering income targets, in line with the annual budget, from a portfolio of Trusts and Corporate Foundations
• Responsibility for researching Trusts and Corporate Foundations in alignment with a wide variety of projects and appeals that address the needs of BTH
• Developing high-quality bids/applications/cases for support for a variety of funders
• Managing stewardship activities for Trusts and Corporate Foundations, including tracking of reports and payments
• Working proactively with contacts within the Trust to identify and scope opportunities to maximise impact and income
• Working effectively with operational and clinical staff to develop and implement opportunities to foster and strengthen long-term relationships with donors and Trust representatives
• Supporting and developing new engagement events and communications

• Work collaboratively with the Charity Team to develop a new system for collaborative working in regards to Corporate Foundations, COTY applications, and other written bids for support.

• Develop regular activity reports and updates on donor funded activities that clearly indicate progress and impact

• Work collaboratively with the Charity Team to develop and implement engagement and stewardship plans in alignment with existing corporate giving plans, including special events.
• Host visits to BTH by donors or Trustees, ensuring the visit maximises the opportunity to improve the relationship.

• Produce materials such as Impact Reports, website information, Cases for Support and Newsletters appropriate for Major Donors and Trusts with support of the Communications team.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

• Evidence of high-levels of numeracy and literacy and good general level of education
• Degree qualification, in relevant business-related subject, or equivalent experience to degree level

Desirable criteria

• Externally accredited qualification such as IoF Foundation in Fundraising Practice
• Fundraising specific training to degree level, e.g. proposal writing, negotiation skills etc., or equivalent experience

Experience

Essential criteria

• A proven track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising income targets by writing bids and securing medium value gifts (£10k-£150k) within a Trusts and/or Major Donor Fundraising environment
• Experience researching prospects, including Trusts/Foundations and major donors, and managing data/prospects within a CRM system
• Knowledge of GDPR/data protection laws
• Self-motivated and self-directing; strong time management skills; strong attention to detail; flexible; and honest, with a high degree of personal integrity.
• High emotional intelligence and exceptional interpersonal skills: a ‘people person’. Be able to empathise with people’s stated needs and emotional drivers.

Desirable criteria

• Knowledge of fundraising trends and experience conducting market research
• Experience of fundraising within a complex organisatione.g. NHS, university etc.
• Experience of fundraising for medical/health related projects.

Position: Health and Safety Officer (Property and Transport)

About this job

Please note this is a part-time role 3 days/or 21 hours per week (Fridays must be worked but the other 2 days per week are flexible). The role is initially for an 18 months fixed term contract.

As a key member of our Services and Support team, you’ll be working with MS Society volunteer groups that provide transport services to their members and/or own property. You’ll also be supporting members of the Customer Services team to help them fulfill their health and safety responsibilities within each of the MS Society’s offices. This role includes travel across the UK to provide support and/ or training as required.

You’ll be working with our external auditors to manage the audit process, monitor and record compliance with the ‘MS Society Health and Safety risk management framework’ on property and transport and ensure materials in the framework are consistently and effectively used.

We’re looking for the successful candidate to have:

• A NEBOSH National General Certificate
• Trained Display Screen Assessment Assessor
• Be a Member of Institute of Occupational Safety and Health
• Experience of working with in house Health and Safety systems that cover risk areas associated with a volunteer group network.
• Experience of working with volunteers.
• An in-depth up-to-date knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and practices, particularly as these relate to the voluntary sector.
• Experience of transport for people of all abilities run by the voluntary sector with a working knowledge of the related legislation.
• A working knowledge of the management of properties run by the voluntary sector.
• A working knowledge of DSE requirements and how to assess and apply them in a practical way.
• Knowledge of risk assessment, inspection and auditing procedures.
