Job Description

Contracts and Project Funding Manager: Cardiff, Wales £26,800 + Benefits

On behalf of a nationwide public sector organisation, we are recruiting a Contracts and Project Funding Manager in Cardiff, Wales. The Contracts and Project Funding Manager will manage relationships associated with each contract, with fundraisers and funders and will ensure delivery staff understand reporting requirements for claims and invoices. This role manages a Contracts Officer.

Main Duties:

  • Ensure outcomes and targets are reported to funders and other key stakeholders
  • Manage, lead, recruit, develop and retain staff
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure maximum drawdown of funding available, ensuring income and expenditure targets for the Region are met
  • Prepare claims for public sector funded projects and track their income and expenditure
  • Ensure recommendations from funder and internal audits are acted upon; ensure Regional funding contracts are recorded, updating the contract management system
  • Produce Regional funding contract guidance to staff to ensure compliance with contract
  • Prepare accurate contact claims to maximise income
  • Ensure all Regional funding evidence is collected and stored to comply with funder audit requirements
  • Prepare financial and operational delivery reports of Regional contracts
  • Liaise with delivery and fundraising staff to identify opportunities for corrective action and maximisation of income from contracts and to liaise with Regional funders on the reallocation of funding as required

Person Specification:

  • Experience of managing and motivating staff
  • Experience in managing multiple public sector funding contracts in the charity sector
  • Experience of using software to track and monitor contract performance
  • Exposure to ERDF, ESF or Big Lottery funding
  • Experience of preparing and updating funding budgets
  • Financial analysis, forecasting and budgeting experience
  • Experience of contracts and SLA’s
  • Experience of prepayments, accruals, deferrals and restricted funds
