With a landmark venue, and over 100 years of championing independent voices promoting equality, social justice, and a better life for all – we call that ETHICS – Conway Hall offers a dynamic platform for those driven by the same passion for change. We deliver our charitable object with talks, concerts, exhibitions, courses, performances, community and social events, as well as through our learning programme.
The venue is Grade 2 listed and offers hirers various event spaces, especially our Main Hall with its distinctive stage, highly-regarded acoustics and cutting-edge AV facilities. Conway Hall is a popular, accessible, venue for: location filming, conferences, presentations, concerts, talks, fashion shows, weddings, awards ceremonies, brand activations, meetings, training, workshops and more.
In a normal year our building would see 100,000 visitors, with our venue and spaces hosting 2,500 events, large and small, the majority of which are generated through our venue hire department. We have accelerated the digital delivery of our own programme through infrastructure investment, live-streaming and online content. We also have plenty of capacity to host more events and activities, and are able to offer a range of spaces which can accommodate groups as small as 18 to our whole venue capacity of 500.
In March 2020, in common with all other venues we closed our doors to staff, volunteers, audiences and hirers, severing our revenue streams and necessitating the need to act quickly to ensure the longer term sustainability of Conway Hall.
We rapidly and successfully enabled our online programme, launched a crowdfunding campaign and sought additional funding from Arts Council England to get us out of our immediate danger of closure.
