Job description

Contract: Fixed term (4.5 months), Part Time (21 hours per week)

Coram Voice is a national independent children’s rights charity that gives a voice to children in care and care leavers. Our programmes include a national helpline and safety net (Always Heard) that gives children and young people access to advocacy and advice, and ‘Voices’, a national creative writing competition for children and young people in care.

Coram Voice, part of the Coram group of charities, launched the Voices competition in 2016 as a positive platform for children in care and young care leavers to share their stories and celebrate their talents. Often the stories that make the news about children in care are negative. Being in care is a label that carries a heavy stigma that we want to change. Voices is about addressing the balance by recognising that children in care and care leavers also have positive stories to tell and are children young people with great creative talent and insight not despite of, but because of, their experiences. This year’s competition will be launched in December and will ask children and young people to explore the theme of ‘Dreams’.
