Child Protection & Community Advocate

Norfolk

Hours:Full time - 35 hours per week

Salary: £20,803.00 per annum

Home/Office based:80%/20% split

Coram Voice exists to enable and equip children and young people to hold the system to account, to challenge and support it to do its job properly and to uphold the rights of children and young people to actively participate in shaping their own lives.

Coram Voice holds the advocacy contract for Children’s Services in Norfolk and is looking for a new advocate to join its established and busy team. This is a new post.

Our Norfolk service provides advocacy to children and young people who are Looked After or Care Leavers and also to those who are involved in Child Protection conferences.

Advocates are required to support children and young people in a range of settings and locations mainly within Norfolk and occasionally further afield.

Applicants will need to be able to work with flexibility to accommodate short notice referrals and the changing circumstances which occur in children’s lives.

A current driving licence and access to a car are essential.

As a key element of the role is independence it is not possible to undertake this role while continuing to hold some other roles – both paid and unpaid (either where there may be a conflict of interest or the perception of a conflict of interest) – please contact us if you have any questions in this regard.
