Coram was established by Royal Charter in 1739, as the UK’s first children’s charity. The Finance Department has a primary responsibility to protect the assets of Coram group of charities through the maintenance and development of a systematic process for financial control and review. The Department provides accurate, timely and meaningful financial and management information that enables the Board and Senior Management Team to make effective decisions regarding the strategic direction of the charity.

About the role

As Senior Financial Accountant you will be responsible for producing and maintaining Coram’s monthly financial accounts and information on all contracts and grant funded projects. Working in conjunction with the Heads of Service and Group Financial Controller to prepare annual statutory accounts, financial plans and cash flow forecasts for the organisation.

To be successful in this role you will have the ability to build relationships with, and provide an effective business partnering service to, senior stakeholders and operational staff. You will have proven financial accounts experience within a similar role and be able to interpret / summarise complex information in an easily accessible format. Excellent communication and IT skills will be key to your success; experience of Great Plains Dynamics and SAGE packages is an advantage.
