Early Permanance Social Worker/Senior Practitioner

Contract - Permanent, Full time

Hours - 35 hours per week

Location - London 

About the role

This post is located in a small Early Permanence Unit within the Recruitment and Assessment function of the Coram Ambitious for Adoption Regional Adoption Agency.A substantive part of the role is devoted to building early permanence as a viable option and making and supporting EP placements across the Local Authorities within the RAA. The remaining time will be spent on mainstream adoption work.

Purpose of the role

To provide a child-centred, comprehensive service to babies and young children, their families and carers referred to the programme including:

  • Promoting permanence planning for children under age 24 months by:

    • provision of placements with dually approved foster carers/ adopters;

    • support to parents and relatives of children in placement to assist in plans for rehabilitation.

  • Liaising with RAA and other Local Authorities and raising awareness of the programme.

  • To undertake mainstream adoption assessments and provide placement support
