Established in 2016 Team UP is a not-for-profit service whose social mission is to help businesses to support the community through volunteering and related activities. This service is part of the charity Volunteer Centre Camden.

Team UP helps businesses to support the community through team volunteering events, skills-based volunteering as well as helping to bring resources and equipment to community and voluntary sector organisations and local people. Based in Kentish Town, Team UP serves Camden communities but has international recognition and has been invited to the United Nations in Geneva to help facilitate discussions on how corporate volunteering can support the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.

This is a superb opportunity for an energetic and intelligent individual who wishes to apply their first rate business development and organisational skills for the good of the community and help lead the expansion of this successful initiative.

We are currently looking for someone with proven sales/commercial skills who can deliver revenue targets from corporate clients and also manage the operational side of running team volunteering events and working closely with voluntary sector organisations and community groups. The Team UP Corporate Engagement Manager will carry out a complex range of tasks including brokering relationships between local businesses and third-sector beneficiaries; build the profile of volunteering; generate leads; carry out regular marketing campaigns, identify and match needs; fundraise; and secure bookings, materials and equipment for appropriate services.

This role will have responsibility for delivering the corporate volunteering part of new project Job Hub Links, which focuses on finding and facilitating business volunteers to hold employability workshops for socially isolated and disadvantaged residents in Camden.

As well as engaging with corporates at all levels, there’s a large hands-on side to the role. You will be present on-site on the day of the Corporate Client’s volunteering events, which will require several days of your time each month. It’s possible to recruit and line-manage a volunteer(s) to help you with this, but you should expect to get your hands dirty (literally). Some events involve hard physical labour such as gardening or painting. We’re looking for a proactive and dynamic person with skills in sales, marketing, fundraising, operational & project management, communication and people management. This is an autonomous and largely self-managing role, but will have support and supervision from the Chief Executive, and we will need to see proven experience of managing projects on your own initiative.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Business development (corporates)
  • Responsibility for delivering targets for Job Hub Links project as well as an income target
  • Profile and relationship-building focused on the corporate sector
  • Marketing including email campaigns, social media, collateral, press coverage
  • Partnerships with local beneficiaries e.g. schools, care homes, park authorities
  • Operational delivery management and oversight, e.g. health & safety
  • Evaluation, reporting and data management
  • Fundraising via bids and applications to appropriate sources
  • Participation in national campaigns, Volunteer Centre Camden events & activities, and more

You’ll be well-organised, confident working solo, and have a style that blends the best of our voluntary-sector roots and our corporate client base. Professional business English – written and spoken – is a pre-requisite. Previous experience in business development or sales is essential, including delivering income targets. Experience in the not-for-profit sector and/or with organising events and/or corporate volunteering services would be a distinct advantage.

You should be passionate about volunteering and the impact that volunteers have on their communities and the wider world. This role will be part of a close-knit team at Volunteer Centre Camden that supports each other to meet the wider objectives of the charity to promote and facilitate volunteering in all of its forms.

You should have a high degree of software literacy, including email, MS Word and Excel; familiarity with MailChimp email marketing software is a plus. We already have relationships with businesses to build on as well as many other new businesses to work with. Vacancy Details

Location: Volunteer Centre Camden, 2 Grafton Yard, Kentish Town, NW5 2ND. Nearest tube/stations: Kentish Town and Kentish Town West.

Job Type: Part-Time, 3 days per week. Requests for flexible working will be considered. Based on income generating performance, we are keen for this role to expand to Full-time or add an additional part-time role.

Line management: This role reports to the Chief Executive Officer

Salary: Full time equivalent (FTE) pay is £30,351 per year pro rata (including Inner London Weighting) and this based on a 37.5hrs working week. Pay is £18,210.60 for 3 days part-time. We expect the right person to be able to easily grow this role into a larger one with an opportunity for FT or addition of another PT role to support.
