Cranstoun are excited to be working with the West Midlands Police Crime and Commissioner to bring a new Arrest Referral Service to the custody suites of West Midlands Police offering drug and alcohol using offenders the opportunity to break the cycle of substance related crime.
Are you currently working as a substance misuse worker or could you bring transferable skills and experience to our team? You will assess, advise and refer offenders providing them the opportunity to access treatment to address their substance use. The service will operate 7 days per week across a shift pattern that covers 7am – 10pm.
You will be responsible for delivering all elements of substance misuse work including, case management, needle exchange, naloxone and assertive engagement as well as other associated duties. You need to have an understanding of the issues faced by drug and alcohol users who commit crime and be dedicated to delivering a service that supports these individuals to address their lifestyle choices.
All roles within this service are subject to enhanced DBS checks and West Midlands Police vetting. Please ensure all previous offences are listed within your application form with as much detail as possible.
The role is for 35 hours per week covering a range of shifts between 7am and 10pm, Monday to Friday and 8am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday. Typical shifts include: 7am – 3pm / 10am - 6pm / 2pm – 10pm and you will be based within the custody suites of West Midlands Police (Coventry, Birmingham, Sandwell)
