Exciting opportunity to work as a Community Engagement Programme Officer with a local innovative, dynamic health and wellbeing charity influencing doctors of the future.
Well Connected is a UK registered charity that delivers community based modules for the dental and medical curriculum for the Peninsula Dental Social Enterprise and University of Plymouth’s Faculty of Medicine. We also deliver health improvement programmes to enable disadvantaged groups to feel more empowered and informed about their well-being. Alongside this, we offer training workshops for health professionals that support health improvement with a particular focus initially on oral health and diet and nutrition.
We are currently seeking to appoint a flexible, enthusiastic and highly organised individual to join the team.
The role of Community Engagement Programme Officer involves working with staff, students and organisations from the statutory and voluntary sectors with the main focus on managing and coordinating the Social Engagement Clinical Pathway undertaken by Year 3 medical students for the University of Plymouth’s Faculty of Medicine and supporting the delivery of community engagement activities.
The successful candidate will have an understanding of genuine engagement methods and experience of working within a community, successfully engaging with local people via projects and activities. They will also have knowledge and an understanding of local communities, community health and wellbeing and the impact of health inequalities.
This is a Fixed Term Full Time position for 12 months in the first instance.
