Creative Support, a not-for-profit provider of social care services, is looking to recruit a Senior Community Support Worker to assist in the operational management of our highly regarded community support services across Barrow-in-Furness and the surrounding areas
The service supports people in their own homes across Barrow-in-Furness and surrounding areas. The role involves ensuring that service users receive person centred support which enables them to enjoy a fulfilling and valued life, to participate in the community and to develop their abilities as fully as possible. You will provide respectful emotional and practical support to people with mental health needs by managing our outreach support.
This is a busy service providing over 500 hours of community based support to service users on a weekly basis. This role is perfect for an individual who enjoys working in community services and who is from a practitioner background with experience of working with clients with mental health needs and learning disabilities. You must be able to demonstrate excellent organisational and leadership skills as you carry out this interesting and varied role. The ability to plan and organise rotas is required as is the ability to represent the service, its service users and Creative Support through inter-agency partnership work. Prior management and supervision experience is essential as is the ability to drive a car.
As a manager you must have a professional approach with the ability to supervise, coach and guide the staff team to deliver a consistently personalised service. You will need excellent written and verbal communication skills and you will be fully IT literate. A relevant social care qualification is essential (minimum Diploma Level 4) and experience within a community-based support service is also essential. You will have the ability to maintain excellent records and meet monitoring requirements as set out by Creative Support and the Council.
