HX1, Halifax
£9.27 - £11.95 per hour
Permanent, Full-time
Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced individual for our supported living services in Calderdale and Kirklees. Our registered office is in Halifax, but there will be an expectation that you will have an active presence across all of our services that provide person-centred care for people who have learning disabilities.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has strong managerial skills, but who is also passionate about providing compassionate, person centred care and support. You will have excellent communication skills and your role will include promoting people’s rights, independence and community inclusion. You will be able to review and develop support plans and risk assessments in a positive and empowering way. You will complete rotas and have the ability to deploy staff where they are needed. You will lead and chair review meetings and have the skills to ensure we meet people’s dreams and aspirations. You will promote positive ways of working and supervise staff at a senior support worker and care-co-ordinator level. You will be able to communicate positively and professionally with external health and social care professionals and family members. You will monitor the day quality of service provision, through completing quality audits, dealing with complaints and managing incidents and safeguarding alerts. You will also be required to take an active role in the service user committee group. In addition you will be expected to deputise for the service manager when necessary, as well as being part of the ‘on call’ system

You will need a caring and compassionate approach and have excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills. Our ideal candidate will have a can-do, positive attitude and a minimum of two years relevant management experience of working with people with learning disabilities. Ideally you will have NVQ or Health & Social Care Diploma Level 3 or higher and be able to evidence practitioner skills and knowledge. You will be hard working, physically active and enthusiastic with the ability to act as a role model. Most of all you will be dedicated to enabling the people we support to have meaningful and fulfilled lives.

We can offer you the opportunity to work with a well-established team of staff in a very positive, friendly environment which strives to keep the people we support central to our ways of working. We will support you with further professional and management training (such as Level 5 diploma qualification) and ongoing management support.
