Creative Support is a non-profit provider of person centred care and support to people with a range of needs including older people, people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and autism spectrum conditions. Our service in North Liverpool provides person-centred, flexible support to vulnerable people at risk of becoming homeless. Liverpool City Council commissioned this service in order to reduce levels of homelessness and increase general levels of independence and wellbeing in the community.
We are seeking an innovative, well-organised graduate with a good degree (ideally 2:1 or higher) and some post-degree work experience who is passionate about working in the not-for-profit sector.
You will take a lead in the continuous development of the current Liverpool North Homelessness Prevention service and contribute to the provision and implementation of new Community Opportunities across the north area of Liverpool. The role will involve the delivery of 1:1 and group sessional support for people with a range of support needs including mental health issues, alcohol and substance misuse issues, people with a learning disability and/or physical disability and people from the refugee community. This includes advice and information, sign posting and specific support services.
The role also involves the development of partnerships with a wide range of other communities based across the borough to facilitate effective and positive partnerships. You will assist the Senior Development Officer to increase the uptake of volunteers and peer support opportunities within the service. You will also work closely with user led organisations, community groups and social enterprises which can provide opportunities for service user participation and personal development.
You will build and sustain social capital and community links in addition to organising and developing marketing material to promote the service, celebrating successful outcomes and providing up to date information regarding access to the service. We are looking for a proactive and assertive individual who has the ability to manage a diverse workload within a person centered organisation.
