Greater London
£29,000 - £32,000 per year
Permanent, Full-time
Job description

We are a nationwide charity providing support and care to older people in the vibrant London Boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Bromley and Wandsworth. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to manage our team of 5 Activity Support Workers and Activity Coordinators and oversee a stimulating and relevant range of activities and events for our 200+ clients. You will be developing activities in a collaborative manner ensuring that they meet clients’ goals, improve their wellbeing and enhance social inclusion.

You must be a proactive and creative person with the ability to build links with the local community and access resources and new opportunities. A genuine interest in working with older adults at risk is essential, as is having a commitment to diversity in all its facets.

You will be well organised and efficient with excellent communication and IT skills (especially Word/Excel/Publisher). You will be approachable with a warm and effervescent manner. You must enjoy working in a team environment as well as working alone using your own initiative. A core part of your role will be overseeing 5 activity support workers, so having the skillset and confidence in supporting, managing and leading a staff team is essential.

In return for your commitment we can offer you interesting and varied work and you will enjoy visible and supportive management from our Senior Management team.

You will be based in our services in Tower Hamlets and will be expected to travel across the city (including Bromley) as required. All our services are easily reached by underground/DLR. Working hours will be generally within the hours of 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday; however there will be some work on evenings and weekends (2 weekend days out of 8), so flexibility will be required.
