Permanent, Full-time
Job description

We are looking to recruit a dynamic, passionate and committed youth worker to join our dedicated team in North Bristol.

Creative Youth Network is a successful charity organisation that supports young people to reach their potential and lead fulfilling lives by building secure and positive relationships with them based on their individual unique needs. We offer young people safe spaces to express themselves with creative courses, youth clubs and practical advice and support. We take pride in our relaxed working culture and environment, and are PQASSO accredited. We’ve opted in to the Bristol City Council Equality Charter and are dedicated to promoting equality and diversity within the organisation.

You will be delivering services in Bristol for young people aged 11 – 19. The role will include a combination of 1:1 work, small group work, outreach and open access delivery. You will be responsible for a caseload of up to 20 young people at any one time.

It would be desirable if you have experience of working with young people around issues related to sex and relationships and well-being/mental health.

You’ll have two years’ experience of delivering a range of interventions to achieve outcomes for young people through effective use of resources and targeted delivery.

You’ll be expected to have the confidence to challenge a diverse group of young people and fuel their motivation to engage with the service. You’ll also need to demonstrate an ability to build effective, meaningful and trusting relationships with young people, empowering them and providing tailored guidance.

Travel is required for this role, so a full driving licence and access to a car would be beneficial. You’ll also be expected to work a minimum of two evenings per week, therefore flexibility is also essential.

In return we can offer 33 days’ annual leave (including bank holidays, pro rata for part time) per year, generous pension scheme, a cycle to work scheme, opportunities for flexible working, paid breaks and fantastic development opportunities.

We are an equal opportunities employer and are committed to ensuring that underrepresented communities are represented in our organisation. We particularly welcome applications from the BAME community.

This role is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.

Salary: £23,053 per annum, grade 2.3

Hours: Full time (40 hours per week)

Application deadline: 4th December 2020, 09:00

Interview date: 14th December 2020

(Please be aware that shortlisted applicants will be asked to deliver an activity in person for young people on the evening of the interview day as part of the interview process).

Start Date: TBC
