About the role
Crisis is recruiting for a D.I.Y and Skilled Trades Tutor to develop and deliver an engaging and varied programme for members across Birmingham. This is a great opportunity that will give the post holder the chance to deliver activities in your specialist area as well as planning and overseeing the delivery of high-quality programmes that will support members to leave homelessness for good.

You will be responsible for developing a diverse programme to include technical skills to support homeless and vulnerably housed people to develop their confidence, self-esteem and inter-personal skills.

About you
To succeed, you will have a formal qualification and demonstrable experience of at least one of the following (but not exclusive) areas; painting and decorating, carpentry and joinery, horticulture, plastering, CSCS, as well as holding or working toward a practical teaching or assessment qualification. The role would be ideal for an ex or current trades person; who wants to help and support vulnerable individuals to learn and develop new skills.

You will also be committed to empowering homeless people through the development of life and social skills and participation in engagement and learning activities. You will need an understanding of the issues affecting homeless people or have experience of working with vulnerable clients in a similar setting.
