This is an exciting opportunity to join our News and Media team, at a pivotal time for Crisis as we develop, and inspire public support for, a long-term plan to end homelessness once and for all.
We’re looking for a dynamic, proactive individual with experience of working in a busy press office to join us to help bring to life the issues and solutions to homelessness, convincing our audiences it can and must be ended.
About the role
As Senior Media Officer, you will play a key role in creating and implementing media strategies to help secure policy change, engage new supporters in Crisis’ purpose to end homelessness and build our profile in news, consumer, online and regional media.
You’ll have a strong track record of developing and implementing high-profile integrated media strategies that have helped achieve organisational objectives. With a proactive, audience-focused approach and excellent news sense, you’ll also be able to translate complex and sensitive issues into compelling content for a range of audiences.

Experience of working within a busy press office at a senior level
Experience of developing and implementing high-profile integrated media strategies that have helped achieve organisational objectives, as well as a high volume of coverage across national and regional news outlets, and targeted consumer features
A solid track record of translating complex policy and research into compelling news and PR coverage
Experience of managing and maintaining good relationships with senior internal stakeholders as well as senior journalists and editors
Experience in telling the stories of people who are, or have been, in vulnerable situations, sensitively and with the utmost respect for their safety and wellbeing
