About the role
You’ll be responsible for our social media presence, managing our main channels and providing direction and support for regional, retail and team accounts. You’ll be part of our newly-formed digital marketing team, developing a social media strategy that brings our work to life, has great storytelling at its heart, and inspires audiences to be part of ending homelessness once and for all.
You’ll be an experienced social media professional, skilled at community management, content creation and developing insight-driven social media strategies. You’ll be enthusiastic about engaging with supporters, and proactive about spotting opportunities to build our community and influence the way homelessness is talked about. You’ll have a knack for taking complex issues and transforming them into simple, engaging concepts, and passionate about giving supporters the tools to drive forward the debate. With excellent relationship-building skills, you’ll be able to support colleagues to confidently use social media in support of a range of organisational objectives.

1 Substantial experience of working in social media within a busy media, communications, or marketing department
2 Experience of developing (and monitoring/evaluating) high-profile integrated social media strategies that have helped achieve organisational objectives
3 Demonstrable experience of growing and maintaining strong supporter bases across a range of social media channels
4 Experience of generating high levels of engagement with followers – particularly on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram
5 Adept at developing/commissioning creative and compelling multimedia content, including videos, graphics, lives, etc.
6 Experience of creating engaging moments/stunts on social media such as takeovers, live Q&As, Thunderclaps, etc.
7 Experience of developing relationships with key social influencers that have helped achieved campaigns, communications, or organisational objectives
8 Experience of helping develop best practices, ways of working, processes, and systems for social media work
9 Experience of translating complex policy and research into compelling social content
10 Experience of working directly with senior stakeholders and confidently advising colleagues on what works for social media and what doesn’t andproviding creative alternatives when needed
11 A solid understanding of the social media landscape and ongoing developments within it
12 Experience in telling the stories of people who are, or have been, in vulnerable situations, sensitively and with the utmost respect for their safety and wellbeing
13 Commitment to Crisis’ purpose and values including equality and social inclusion
14 Basic InDesign and Photoshop skills
