Job description

By joining our Community & Events fundraising team, you will be supporting Crisis with the new virtual challenge event which will be taking place. 

Your role will be to support event participants, encouraging them to fundraise and making sure they have everything they need to succeed. The event will be managed digitally, predominantly through Facebook. 

Who we are looking for:

  • Good communication skills, particularly written
  • Good administrative skills and familiarity with software such as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel; Google Docs, Forms and Sheets
  • Prior experience using Facebook, ideally overseeing a Facebook group (training on managing the group can be provided if needed)
  • Prior experience using social media channels and communicating with members of the public in a professional setting (desirable)
  • Good timekeeping and reliability
  • Non-judgmental, friendly and confident in talking to a range of people
  • An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and maintaining boundaries
  • Be positive, productive and have a passion to help end homelessness

Core tasks:

  • To manage the event’s Facebook group including posting content, replying to posts from group members and monitoring comments and activity
  • To order fundraising packs from our suppliers and managing the administration of it 
  • To support the Event Manager with other ad-hoc tasks which may arise during the event period
  • To be able to attend regular online catch ups over Skype
  • Noting and reporting back any concerns with the events and/ or participants
  • Potential further participant support such as responding to email enquires related to the event 
  • Attend post-event reviews and/or debriefing

We expect all volunteers to comply with Crisis policies including health and safety, data protection and code of conduct.

  • Telephone expenses are reimbursed where appropriate
