Crohn’s & Colitis UK has a well-established direct marketing programme and donations from our supporters are crucial to our vital work in supporting those diagnosed or affected by Crohn’s and Colitis. This role is a great opportunity to encourage donations and committed giving from supporters through direct mail, digital appeals, and lottery. You will also have the opportunity to deliver innovative and effective retention strategies, reduce attrition and encourage long-term support for the charity.
Working as part of the multi-functional Individual Giving Team which includes Membership, In Memory and Legacy giving, you will help develop and deliver high quality appeals and campaigns with a focus on ensuring good levels of supporter stewardship. Building on insight, you will trial and test supporter audiences from our CRM database, as well as highlight cross promotional opportunities to our supporters.
It’s safe to say all our lives have changed since the start of the pandemic and Crohn’s & Colitis UK had to adapt and change as well. But as we come through this, the charity has taken great steps to ensure that we can continue to provide support and services for people affected by Crohn’s and Colitis.
Our fundraising campaigns have gone from strength to strength and we have been delighted and inspired by our community which has responded to our new, and in some cases virtual, fundraising activities with enthusiasm. The continuation of their support has been so great to see and we’re extremely grateful. In 2020 we surpassed our income predications despite changes in our fundraising due to the pandemic, and we are on track to surpass them again in2021.
We are looking ahead to a period of growth as we put the impact of the pandemic behind us and innovate and adapt further. We are confident the charity can continue to support those who need us, and our new organisational strategy will give us the direction and drive for the next exciting chapter in the charity’s future.
You will have experience of direct marketing fundraising and delivering successful campaigns, and experience of regular giving and lottery programmes including both acquisition and retention. You will need to be confident in utilising multi-channel marketing and have knowledge of developing and delivering high quality supporter journeys and communication plans. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must as well as the ability to write engaging content. You will also have excellent attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills, building relationships with key stakeholders, external suppliers and colleagues in other departments.
