DASH is delighted to offer this part time post to a candidate with management experience in the charity sector. The role offers flexible working hours to suit someone with a life style that places other demands upon their time. The role is home based, however there is an administrative office in Sandford House that you will be required to attend from time to time.
We are a small local charity whose mission is to improve the quality of life and foster independent living for adults with Autism / Aspergers, within the Borough of Swindon. Our “Autism Matters” service, funded by the Lottery Community Fund, provides information and advice to promote and enhance access to: assessment & diagnosis, post diagnosis support, welfare & care, housing, education and employment. We also provide advice to families and professional organisations about supporting adults with Autism / Aspergers. DASH runs social groups that meet on a regular basis. We employ a total of ten part time staff, equating to 1.25 Full Time Equivalents. We also have a small team of five volunteers.
Working with the Board of Trustees develop and implement the charity’s strategy.
Working with the Operations Manager ensure all activities and programmes run by the charity are deliverable, fit for purpose and appropriately reviewed.
Working with the Accounts Manager ensure finances are appropriately managed and accounted for.
Co-ordinate the preparation and submission of funding applications. Ensure donor relationships are effectively managed and funding reports are submitted as required.
Policies and Procedures:
Ensure all policies and procedures are fit for purpose and reviewed according to a schedule agreed with the Board of Trustees.
Ensure all staff contracts are fit for purpose and are regularly reviewed. Ensure all staff and volunteers are DBS checked. Ensure that all staff receive regular reviews and annual assessments.
Working with the part time administrator ensure the administration of the charity functions appropriately and is fit for purpose.
Develop and implement internal and external communications. Management of the new website (under development)
Ensure all information held by the charity is securely stored and that access and use of data is in accordance with GDPR guidelines.
Managing and working with staff and volunteers in the charity sector.
Experience of working with budgets.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Competent user of proprietorial soft - MS Office: Word and Outlook.
Desirable: Experience of:
Working with adults with Autism / Aspergers.
Hours: 10 per week
Salary: Pro rata £31,200
Holiday: Five weeks per year
