Deafblind UK provides one-to-one and tailored support to people with combines sight and hearing loss, freeing them from a world of isolation and loneliness. We provide a variety of support services that range from helping people through hard times to enabling them to do the simple, everyday things that we take for granted such as getting out and about and keeping in touch with friends.
We are expanding our wonderful fundraising team and seeking an engaging and proactive, Regional Fundraising Officer, to be home based in Bristol.
This exciting opportunity will be key in developing new fundraising initiatives and projects whilst recruiting, engaging, managing and developing community & corporate fundraising supporters to maximise long term, sustainable income for the charity.
Within your region of Bristol you will be liaising with, identifying and nurturing key supporters (groups, individuals, and organisations) to raise awareness and income for the Charity.
There is no average day in this role - its challenging, committed and fast paced. You will have targets to meet and although lone working you will be supported by colleagues and management whilst knowing that ultimately you are making a real positive difference to individuals with sight and hearing loss.
Ideally you will have a good understanding, knowledge or practical experience of the Community Fundraising sector and key trends within it. You will be a passionate and confident engager, with a natural flair to build relationships for key funding opportunities whilst communicating clearly and assertively with a wide range of people at all levels. You will also have the drive and determination to succeed in a targeted role and the creativity to ensure funders and key stakeholders are well informed about the importance of our charity’s work.
You will need to be a driver with own transport and able to travel independently across the Bristol area.
