Job description

Dean Farm Trust is a Registered Charity and animal sanctuary located in Chepstow, Monmouthshire that provides a home for life to unwanted, abused and neglected animals. The sanctuary is open to the public and provides 62 acres of open space for visitors to come and met the animals in a natural environment. We currently give a home for life to 190 rescued farmed and domestic animals.

Rescuing animals since 2013, the Charity has seen significant growth in public support and media coverage over the last three years. We have developed open days, educational visits, school trips, corporate events, tours and many seasonal activities. The Sanctuary attracts 1000’s of visitors annually from the local communities and UK wide, with global support from the vegan community.  During the pandemic we took the sanctuary “virtually” through our social media channels and website which attracted more exposure that helped support the funding required through this difficult time.

The charity was voted the UK’s favourite animal sanctuary by the award winning global organisation Vegfest in 2020, we were chosen from hundreds of Sanctuaries throughout the UK.

Matt Pritchard (The Dirty Vegan) became our first Patron in 2020.

We have more recently attracted Corporate sponsors who we work in partnerships with and collaborations. This is a growing area with more like minded companies wanting to be associated with our Charity and the work we do.

We currently have a small team of staff supported by an established bank of committed volunteers, that is continually growing. They support us with daily jobs around the sanctuary, larger projects, and help at our open days and events which is vital to the success of these events.

The charity is now entering an exciting time of development so the appointment of new Trustees will give us the skills and experience necessary to meet its aims.

We are seeking motivated individuals who embrace the ethics and philosophy of the Charity.

If you are inspired by our work, and believe you have the skills, experiences and attributes to help shape our future, we would love to hear from you.
