If your answers to these questions are yes, then we have a job opportunity for you as Youth Homelessness Support Worker. We are recruiting for two Youth Homelessness Support Workers to work on a fixed-term contract basis at our office in Burnage Lane, Manchester.

In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £19,804 per annum plus pension and other benefits.

The Youth Homelessness Support Worker Role: 

We are looking for a Support Worker to work full time (37.5 hours per week) on a rota basis for a 6 months fixed term contract. You will help organise group sessions and activities within the accommodation to encourage social engagement.

We are also looking for a Support Workers to work full time (37.5 hours per week) on a rota basis for 12 months fixed term contract. You will be responsible for supporting our thirteen 18-25-year-old residents to move from hostel living to their own independent accommodation.

Both roles will carry a caseload of young clients and support them with their physical and emotional needs and help them to achieve independence. You will also be responsible for overseeing the general upkeep of the accommodation and ensuring it is properly maintained.

What will ideally support your success in this Youth Homelessness Support Worker role?

  • Experience of working with young people or those who have experienced homelessness.
  • An understanding of the needs of people who have experienced homelessness, poor mental health, substance misuse
  • A knowledge and understanding of Risk Assessments and Support Planning.
  • Able to demonstrate clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures
  • Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills
