Job description

Derby City Mission, a registered charity (1140235), is looking to appoint a number of Floating Support Workers to support homeless people who are temporarily housed in Buxton, Chesterfield and Amber Valley areas of Derbyshire during the winter months.

The Support Worker will work with individuals facing multiple and complex challenges who are going through the toughest of life transitions, through face-to-face meetings, phone calls and text messages, using non-collusive and non-coercive supportive conversations that create a sense that change could be beneficial and possible. The role is expected to work across 7 days, the actual patterns of work, timings to be dependent on patterns of need and times when individuals are more likely to be visible and interested in engaging. This role is funded by central government and is a fixed term contract for up to 4 months (1st December 2021-31st March 2022). You will need to be able to drive and have access to a car.
