Summary
This is an exciting time to join Diabetes UK as we have an increased focus on securing value for money in our contracts with key suppliers. You will be building on the work of the previous post holder who began to work across the organisation to educate and support colleagues in procurement. You will be reporting directly to the Head of Finance and will work with a team of Finance Business Partners to influence colleagues.
You will have lots of opportunity to influence our processes & procedures and develop the procurement process. You will have a role in developing policies and approaches, and working closely with the finance & legal team, will ensure the charity has the reporting, processes and controls it needs to drive best practice in this area.
You will offer procurement support across the charity, identifying opportunities, creating work plans and partnering with colleagues with the ultimate aim of reducing cost and managing risk through effective procurement.
This post holder will use their expert knowledge to ensure that Diabetes UK complies with relevant procurement legislation and guidance.

Main Responsibilities
As the Procurement Partner, you will be responsible for helping Diabetes UK identify areas where there are opportunities to reduce cost, reduce risk, or increase value for the charity - and act on these. You will work closely with the finance business partnering team & individual budget holders to maximise value for money from our charitable spend.
This will be a very interesting role working across both the legal and finance teams and the right candidate will have scope to work across the organisation to promote the value of effective procurement.

Ideal Candidate
Utilise your experience of working in procurement (from either the charitable, public or commercial sector) to support Diabetes UK to achieve value for money through our procurement activities.
Take a partnership approach to supporting colleagues and work collaboratively. Be curious about the activities delivered through suppliers, and use data and evidence to make decisions on areas of focus for procurement.
An innovative thinker, able to spot opportunities and drive change based on findings, risks, incidents and changes of regulatory requirements.
Promote the value of effective procurement across the organisation
Be self-motivated and able to work both independently and in partnership with others.
Summary
As a Finance Business Partner you will provide accurate, timely and engaging financial information to colleagues, and guide decision makers to commercial outcomes which enable Diabetes UK to achieve our strategic aims. You will be responsible for shaping and delivering the business partnering function for a number of teams.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real contribution to the charity's success and will equip the right candidate with a broad range of experience and knowledge as they progress their career. The charity recently invested in a new cloud-based finance system so you would have access to and help to develop our use of the latest tools, including Power BI.

You will form a deep understanding of the objectives and activities of the teams you support, and use this to provide expert support and advice to colleagues. You will present insightful analysis and management reports, and lead and support colleagues through budget and reforecast processes. You will pro-actively identify risks and opportunities, suggest actions and mitigations, and influence delivery teams to take these forward in the best interests of the charity. You will collaborate with others to identify opportunities to save money, reduce risk, or increase impact.
Ideal Candidate
You are a qualified accountant or expect to qualify in the next 18 months and have a proactive, curious and thorough approach. You have experience of collaborative working in a business partnering environment, providing support and advice to stakeholders at all levels. You have excellent communication skills and are able to influence and confidently challenge others to make the best decisions for the organisation. You work flexibly in a busy environment and manage conflicting demands by prioritising the most urgent needs of the organisation. You will have a keen eye for detail and good excel skills to aid analysis.
