The BCS is seeking a Digital Content Editor who is creative, innovative and driven to ensure all digital content for the BCS meets the needs of our users, and is in line with the content strategy and editorial calendar. Working collaboratively… but with a great deal of autonomy, you’ll help to create and implement a content calendar, which aligns to our business and digital strategy.
You will ensure that our website is an efficient online gateway to finding out more about the BCS, manage the Society’s reputation online and creatively direct its online presence, producing original, clear, attention grabbing copy to ensure appropriate interest is generated.
The Digital Content Editor will ensure that we capitalise on the full set of online tools and channels when communicating with all audiences, making sure we choose the right channel for the right audience; email, social media, website etc. As part of a small, busy and dynamic team, you’ll produce consistently excellent work, which is both accurate and original.
This is a busy and demanding role, so prior experience with analytics tools is a must as you’ll be asked to measure and evaluate all digital activity for reach and impact in line with agreed KPIs, identifying successes, gaps and opportunities for improvement.
The ideal candidate will be a strong, creative writer, skilled in writing for web, with knowledge of how this differs to writing for print, press and marketing. Design experience or experience with editing images in Photoshop will also be an advantage.
